Regulatory updates
SMABTP is a société d'assurance mutuelle regulated under the French Insurance Code and supervised by the ACPR. In February 2020 the Group initiated a rating process which resulted in SMA SA receiving an A+ rating with a stable outlook from Fitch Ratings, confirmed in July 2023 and supplemented by a second A+ rating for SMABTP, and reconfirmed again in September 2024. In 2023, SMABTP and MACSF acquired a majority stake in Arundo Re (formerly CCR RE), France's second largest reinsurer, and the group's proposed acquisition of CGI Bâtiment was reviewed by the ACPR.
