Direct payment

Under the mandatory third-party liability guarantee, Pacifica compensates injured third parties/victims directly on behalf of the policyholder; the insurer may subsequently pursue recovery against the policyholder in specific cases (e.g., proven misrepresentation).

Geographic scope

Metropolitan France, French overseas departments/regions, EU member states and the UK during the contract term

Coverage applies in mainland France, overseas departments/regions, EU member states, the UK, Vatican, San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and other non-EU states shown on the green card. For stays exceeding 3 months outside the EU/UK, only third-party liability applies. Natural catastrophe, technological catastrophe and terrorism-attack guarantees are limited to metropolitan France.

Unique selling points

  • Avantage Bon Conducteur (ABC) offers up to -30% off the premium, stacking with the standard bonus-malus, available from day one even for young drivers.
  • Driver bodily-injury protection is included in every formula (even the entry-level Eko), with no deductible, and extends to borrowed/rented vehicles and cycling.
  • 0km roadside assistance with no distance franchise from the Tiers Intégral formula upward, a level of service usually reserved for comprehensive ('tous risques') policies elsewhere on the market.
  • Deductible waived as a loyalty reward ('Cadeau de franchise') after 3 consecutive claim-free years on the 'Intégrale' formulas.
  • The car insurance offer received the 2024 'Label d'Excellence' award from Les Dossiers de l'Épargne for the quality of its guarantees.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

France métropolitaine, EU member states and the UK during the contract's life (only RC beyond 3 months abroad); short stays (<3 months) also covered in Vatican, San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein and other non-EU states shown on the green card. Natural catastrophe, technological catastrophe and attacks guarantees apply only in metropolitan France.

Green card rules

The insurance certificate (green card, replaced since April 2025 by the digital 'Mémo Véhicule Assuré' recorded in the Fichier des Véhicules Assurés) is issued automatically at subscription and each annual renewal, and lists the non-EU countries where the mandatory liability guarantee also applies for stays under 3 months.

Driver restrictions

Coverage requires the driver to hold a valid category B driving licence. Novice drivers (licence held under 3 years) and young-driver programmes (under 31, less than 2 years' licence, no prior claims) benefit from dedicated 'Avantage Jeune' terms and preventive-driving courses that accelerate bonus progression.

Claim notification deadline

Theft must be declared within 2 business days (plus a police report), natural catastrophe claims within 30 days of the ministerial order, and all other claims within 5 business days.

Bonus-malus rules

In addition to the statutory bonus-malus (CRM) coefficient, Crédit Agricole applies its own 'Avantage Bon Conducteur' (ABC) discount, currently advertised as up to -30% on the premium (older archived materials referenced a -20% ceiling), stacking with a -10% discount for low-mileage drivers (<7,000 km/year) and -5%/-10% for existing home/multi-policy clients.
