Direct payment

Assistance services must be pre-authorized by Mutuaide Assistance before any expense is incurred; costs paid without prior agreement are not reimbursed. Outside the home country, Mutuaide may, under cumulative conditions (medical team confirms immediate repatriation is impossible, care agreed with its doctors, signed undertaking to pursue reimbursement from the insured's home health scheme), advance hospitalization costs; otherwise the insured pays first and is reimbursed on presentation of original paid invoices and proof of non-reimbursement by their home insurer.

Geographic scope

Zone 1: Metropolitan France, the Principalities of Andorra and Monaco, and most European countries (including the UK and the European part of Russia up to the Urals), plus Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. Zone 2: rest of the world.

Coverage applies only in the countries listed on the insurance certificate, excluding countries affected by civil or foreign war, notorious political instability, popular unrest, terrorism, reprisals, or restrictions on the free movement of people and goods (for any reason, including health, security or weather).

  • The assistance helpline operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and policy documents are delivered by email within minutes of online subscription.
