Groupama Assurances Mutuelles
Groupama
Groupama is a travel insurance for the France market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
Assistance services must be pre-authorized by Mutuaide Assistance before any expense is incurred; costs paid without prior agreement are not reimbursed. Outside the home country, Mutuaide may, under cumulative conditions (medical team confirms immediate repatriation is impossible, care agreed with its doctors, signed undertaking to pursue reimbursement from the insured's home health scheme), advance hospitalization costs; otherwise the insured pays first and is reimbursed on presentation of original paid invoices and proof of non-reimbursement by their home insurer.
Geographic scope
Zone 1: Metropolitan France, the Principalities of Andorra and Monaco, and most European countries (including the UK and the European part of Russia up to the Urals), plus Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. Zone 2: rest of the world.
Coverage applies only in the countries listed on the insurance certificate, excluding countries affected by civil or foreign war, notorious political instability, popular unrest, terrorism, reprisals, or restrictions on the free movement of people and goods (for any reason, including health, security or weather).

Reimbursement of medical costs incurred outside the home country following illness or accident, up to 30,000€ in Zone 1 or 150,000€ in Zone 2 (each with a 50€ deductible), applicable only to insureds affiliated with a health scheme in their home country and only for the balance not covered by that scheme.
Emergency medical treatment
€30,000 – €150,000
Covers doctor's fees, prescribed medication and prescribed emergency ambulance transport within the same zone ceilings (30,000€/150,000€), subject to prior agreement and affiliation with a home-country health scheme.
Hospitalization costs abroad
€30,000 – €150,000
Hospitalization costs are covered within the zone ceiling only if the insured is judged untransportable by the assistance doctors after consulting the local doctor; cover ceases once repatriation becomes possible.
Outpatient medical care
€30,000 – €150,000
Doctor's fees and prescribed medication received outside the home country are reimbursed within the same zone ceilings, only for the portion not covered by the insured's home health scheme.
Emergency dental care
€150
Emergency dental costs are reimbursed up to 150€, without application of the usual deductible, subject to prior agreement.
Medical transport / repatriation
unlimited
Organization and cost of medically necessary transport of the insured to their home or a hospital near their residence, at actual cost, decided solely by the assistance medical team.
Medical evacuation
unlimited
Same guarantee as medical repatriation/transport: at actual cost, organized once the assistance doctor, after consulting the local doctor, decides evacuation is medically required; refusal of the proposed solution cancels the guarantee.
Repatriation of remains
unlimited
Transport of the deceased's body to the place of the funeral in the home country is covered at actual cost, including preservation care required by law; costs directly necessitated by the transport itself (handling, special packaging) are capped at 2,500€.
Search and rescue costs
€5,000
Search and rescue costs at sea or in the mountains following a life-threatening event are covered up to 5,000€ per person, capped at 15,000€ per event; only fees invoiced by a duly licensed rescue company are reimbursed, and Mutuaide must be informed within 3 days of the intervention. A separate on-slope ski-rescue guarantee (sledge/helicopter evacuation from marked pistes) is capped at 1,500€ per person and per event.
