Regulatory updates
Neodigital received its BaFin license as a property and casualty insurer in April 2018 after being founded in December 2016. In 2026 the company underwent a major strategic shift: BaFin revoked/it surrendered its insurance license on 23 June 2026, and Neodigital transferred its entire insurance portfolio (around 400,000 customers in property, liability and accident lines, retroactive to 1 January 2026) to Adam Riese, the digital brand of Württembergische Versicherung (W&W Group), which now acts as risk carrier. Neodigital itself will no longer act as a risk-bearing insurer and is refocusing entirely on its Insurance-as-a-Service (IaaS) technology platform, on which both Adam Riese's and Neodigital's former policies will now be administered. The separate motor insurance joint venture, Neodigital Autoversicherung AG, was not affected by this transaction as it had already been fully taken over by HUK-COBURG.
