Coverage limits
Bodily Injury Liability
€15,000,000
Covers personal injury claims up to 15 million EUR per injured person, within an overall aggregate limit of 100 million EUR per claim event covering personal injury, property damage and pure financial loss combined.
Property Damage Liability
€100,000,000
Property damage is covered within the same combined aggregate limit of 100 million EUR per claim event that also covers personal injury and pure financial loss; no separate sub-limit for property damage alone is stated in the sources.
Legal Defence Against Unjustified Claims
Covered
HUK24 defends unjustified or excessive third-party claims against the policyholder at its own expense as part of the motor liability cover; this is a passive claims-defence service rather than a separate legal expenses sum insured.
Green Card / International Insurance Card
Covered
HUK24 issues an International Insurance Card (Green Card) which serves as proof of motor liability cover; it extends coverage to non-European countries listed on the card, unless the country name is crossed out.
Roadside Assistance (Schutzbrief)
Optional
Optional, legally separate add-on providing breakdown and accident assistance such as on-site repair or towing, vehicle recovery, a rental car up to 80 EUR/day (max. 7 days), overnight accommodation up to 100 EUR per person, and return/onward travel costs, valid across Europe (excluding Russia and Belarus).
Driver Accident Protection (Fahrerschutz)
€15,000,000
Optional, legally separate cover reimbursing the driver's own personal injury (loss of earnings, pain-and-suffering compensation, care costs, maintenance payments, survivor's benefits) as if the insurer were liable under motor liability rules, up to 15 million EUR per claim event; the 2026 edition adds a supplementary hospital daily allowance of 20 EUR/day for up to 4 weeks.
Passenger Accident Protection
€15,000,000
Passengers of the insured vehicle are covered under the same optional Fahrerschutz policy as the driver, sharing the 15 million EUR aggregate limit per claim event for personal injury.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Coverage applies within the geographical borders of Europe and the non-European territories belonging to the EU; if an International Insurance Card (Green Card) has been issued, cover also extends to additional listed non-European countries unless crossed out.
Green card rules
HUK24 issues an International Insurance Card (Green Card) which serves as proof of motor liability cover and extends coverage to the non-European countries listed on the card, unless the country name is crossed out.
Driver restrictions
The vehicle may only be used by a driver authorised by the person entitled to dispose of it and only with the legally required driving licence; rental cars, taxis, self-drive hire vehicles, commercial goods transport, vehicles of the motor trade/industry, and vehicles registered abroad cannot be insured.
Claim notification deadline
Policyholders must report a claim within one week (verbal or telephone notice suffices, except theft which requires text form); out-of-court claims asserted against the policyholder must be reported within one week, and court proceedings must be reported immediately.
Bonus-malus rules
Premiums are based on a no-claims discount class (SF-Klasse) determined by contract duration and claims-free years; new contracts default to SF-Klasse 0 unless a better class is proven; one class improves per claim-free calendar year, while a claim leads to a downgrade per the SF tables; optional Rabattschutz keeps one claim per calendar year free of downgrade; a downgrade can be avoided by voluntarily reimbursing the claim payment within 12 months.
