uniVersa Versicherungen (uniVersa Krankenversicherung a.G., uniVersa Lebensversicherung a.G. and uniVersa Allgemeine Versicherung AG)
uniVersa
uniVersa is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Germany market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
Third parties injured in an accident have a direct claim against uniVersa under Section 115 of the German Insurance Contract Act (VVG), separate from any claim against the policyholder.
Geographic scope
Europe (geographic borders) and non-European territories belonging to the EU
Cover follows at least the German policy scope, or the higher legally required minimum cover of the country being visited, within Europe and EU-affiliated non-European territories; further extension to listed non-European countries applies if an international insurance card has been issued.
Unique selling points
- Flat liability cover of EUR 100 million per claim with up to EUR 15 million per injured person, above typical statutory minimums.
- Automatic, premium-free environmental damage liability cover up to EUR 5 million per claim (EUR 10 million per policy year), included without extra cost.
- Extended no-claims class scale up to SF-50 for cars, well beyond the scales offered by many competitors.
- The optional Rabattschutz add-on not only protects the no-claims class after an at-fault claim but, unlike many competitors, still advances it the following year.
- uniVersa Case Management supports claims handling by phone throughout the process, avoiding paperwork wherever possible and offering an email status-update service on request.
Coverage limits
Bodily injury liability limit
€15,000,000
Liability cover for bodily injury is capped at EUR 15,000,000 per injured person, within an overall flat limit of EUR 100,000,000 per claim event shared with property damage and pure financial loss.
Property damage liability limit
€100,000,000
Property damage claims are covered within the same flat overall limit of EUR 100,000,000 per claim event; there is no separate sub-limit specific to property damage alone.
Legal defence against claims
Covered
uniVersa defends the policyholder against unfounded third-party claims at its own expense, including claims that are unfounded only in amount; no maximum sum is stated for this defence-cost cover.
Green card / international insurance card
Covered
Where uniVersa has issued the international insurance card, cover extends to the non-European countries listed on it, unless the country name is crossed out, applying at least the scope of the German contract.
Roadside assistance (Kfz-Schutzbrief)

Driver accident cover (Fahrerschutz)
€15,000,000

Passenger (occupant) bodily injury cover
€15,000,000
Bodily injury to vehicle occupants other than the driver is covered as third-party injury under the MTPL liability sums, up to EUR 15,000,000 per injured person, even if a co-insured family member caused the accident.
