Regulatory updates
Since 27 November 2025, Ethniki Asfalistiki operates under the Piraeus Bank Group. In H1 2026, Piraeus Bank reported that Ethniki Asfalistiki's gross written premiums grew 7% year-on-year to €0.4 billion, with contribution to group profits nearly tripling versus targets. The CEO stated that both Q1 and Q2 2026 results were tracking above the business plan targets, marking the company's 135th anniversary. Under Piraeus' five-year Business Plan 2026-2030, Ethniki targets premium production of €1.6 billion by 2030, and bancassurance distribution through Piraeus Bank's branch network is expected to launch from early 2027, following the expiry of Piraeus' bancassurance agreements with NN and Ergo in 2026. 2026 remains a transitional year, with Ethniki continuing to operate its existing distribution network independently while integration with the bank progresses. In May 2026, the company announced an expanded partnership with Kyndryl to modernize its core mainframe systems, aiming to improve resilience and agility for policyholders.
