Coverage limits
Own damage (collision) cover
Covered
Covers accidental, sudden external mechanical damage to the vehicle, including damage caused by third persons or animals; indemnity is based on the market value at the time of loss (káridőponti forgalmi érték), capped at the original purchase price.
Total loss (totálkár)
Covered
Total loss applies when the vehicle is destroyed, stolen or robbed and not recovered by settlement, or repair is uneconomical (repair cost exceeds 60% of the pre-loss market value) or technically unjustified; settlement is based on market value at time of loss, capped at the original purchase price, less salvage value.
Partial damage repair cover
Covered
Reimburses repair costs at market-standard parts and labour rates (based on Audatex calculation) when the loss does not qualify as total loss; wear-and-tear deductions apply to certain parts once the vehicle is older than 6 years from first registration.
Theft, burglary and robbery cover
Covered
Covers theft of the whole vehicle, theft of parts/accessories from a properly locked vehicle, and robbery, provided all locking and anti-theft devices were properly engaged; non-factory alloy wheels and audio equipment are covered only up to HUF 100,000 (new value) per item type if declared in the proposal.
Glass breakage cover
Covered
Covers sudden mechanical damage to windows and glass roof panels caused externally or by vandalism; a deductible applies only when the glass must be replaced (not when it is merely repaired), and using an aftermarket windscreen priced at up to 60% of the manufacturer-recommended price preserves the bonus-malus class.
Natural hazards (elemi kár) cover
Covered
Covers fire, explosion, lightning, landslide, rockfall, collapse of underground structures, windstorm of at least 15 m/s, cloudburst, hail, flood, inland inundation, snow-slide, snow-load, and earthquake of at least MSK-64 grade 5, including damage from objects falling onto or striking the vehicle as a result of these forces.
Malicious damage (vandalism) cover
Covered
Damage deliberately caused to the vehicle by a third person or an animal is covered as part of the töréskár (collision/impact damage) insured event.
Casco Assistance roadside help (optional rider)
HUF 140,000
Optional add-on providing 24/7 breakdown information service, a guaranteed 1-hour roadside repair/tow dispatch (or a HUF 10,000 fuel voucher if missed), vehicle towing to the nearest workshop, vehicle storage, and return-home/onward travel. Domestic sub-limits: up to HUF 20,000 for on-site repair, HUF 20,000 for towing, and HUF 140,000 (of which max HUF 10,000 taxi) for return travel; abroad the equivalents are EUR 70, EUR 100 and EUR 500 (max EUR 35 taxi).
Replacement vehicle cost reimbursement (optional rider)
Optional
Optional add-on reimbursing the invoiced rental cost of a same-category replacement vehicle: from the day of theft report or from total-loss determination (at the latest from day 30 after the first inspection) until settlement, or for the optimal repair period in partial-loss cases, up to the policy's insured sum; fuel and other running costs are excluded.
Passenger accident insurance (optional rider - Bennülők balesetbiztosítása)
Optional
Optional accident cover, available only as a casco rider, for the driver and passengers of the insured vehicle; pays the policy sum shown on the certificate in case of accidental death within one year of the accident, and a percentage of the sum (per a fixed injury schedule) for permanent health impairment reaching at least 30%.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
The T&Cs do not set a minimum driver age or experience requirement for casco cover; the policyholder's age only affects the premium through an age-based discount or surcharge applied automatically at policy inception.
Repair network requirements
Repairs may generally be carried out at any workshop, but lock/key/immobiliser replacements are only accepted if performed by the Hungarian authorised brand service network for the given vehicle type, and repairs at a partner dealership's authorised service network can qualify for a waiver of wear-and-tear deductions under clause 499.
Territorial scope
Cover applies to insured events occurring in Hungary and across a wide list of European countries and territories (e.g. Albania, Andorra, Austria, most EU member states, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, the Balkans, the European part of Turkey, Ukraine and others), as specified in the territorial scope clause of the current T&Cs.
Anti-theft requirements
Theft cover requires that all locks and the fitted anti-theft/immobiliser equipment were properly engaged; per clause 425, where prescribed, the device must protect all openings, give a visible/audible alarm signal on attack while blocking engine start, or be a factory immobiliser, or an aftermarket immobiliser blocking at least 3 circuits; clause 403 excludes theft cover entirely if the prescribed device is missing.
Claim notification deadline
Claims must generally be reported within 10 days of discovery; theft, robbery, vandalism, fire or explosion must be reported to the police/fire authority without delay, and any loss of keys/immobiliser cards or of the vehicle registration document must be notified to the insurer within 5 working days.
Deductible rules
A deductible set out in the policy applies per insured event and per vehicle; it is waived only where the T&Cs expressly provide cover without deductible (e.g. windscreen repair without replacement, agreed loss-prevention costs subject to a 10% co-payment, and the Casco Assistance and rental-car riders, which apply no deductible).
