Groupama operates an Auto+ (direct repair) service: for repairs at contracted partner workshops, Groupama deducts the deductible directly and pays the repairer, relieving the customer of administrative tasks. For non-partner workshops, the insured submits invoices for reimbursement within 15 days of claim receipt.

Own vehicle damage (collision/breakage)

Covered

Covers accidental damage to the insured vehicle caused by external sudden force (collision), including vandalism by third parties. Reimbursed at the vehicle's market value at the time of loss (káridőponti érték). For vehicles under 8 years old, new parts are reimbursed without depreciation (except exhaust, battery, tyres). Vehicles 8+ years: depreciation applied to all parts. Airbag/seatbelt repairs only reimbursed at type-identical brand dealership. If over 70% of exterior surface damaged, full body respray reimbursed (with depreciation). Available in Komfort and Prémium packages; not available as standalone in Bázis (Bázis only covers total loss).

Total loss

Covered

Covers total loss when repair costs exceed 70% of the vehicle's market value at the time of loss (káridőponti érték). Compensation equals the Hungarian market value (Eurotax catalogue or ETAX program). For newly purchased vehicles (first owner, within 90 days of first registration), compensation is based on the purchase invoice price. Residual (salvage) value is deducted from compensation if the insurer does not take over the wreck. Available in all three packages: Bázis, Komfort, and Prémium.

Partial loss (partial damage)

Theft and robbery

Covered

Covers theft of the entire vehicle (including unauthorised use), theft of parts/accessories without full vehicle theft, damage caused during theft or robbery attempt, and break-in at a secured garage/premises. Also covers robbery (use of force or threats). Vehicle must be properly locked and the contracted anti-theft system must be active. All keys must be accounted for after the event. Compensation equals the vehicle's Hungarian market value (Eurotax). If the vehicle is not recovered within 60 days of the police report, total loss compensation is paid. Not covered: taxi/rental use; vehicles not properly locked; keys not stored securely. Applies in all packages.

Glass/windscreen damage

Covered as part of töréskár (collision/breakage). If the damaged windscreen/glass is repaired without replacement, no deductible is charged. If only the glass replacement cost is covered in a claim, only the contractual percentage deductible (not the minimum amount) applies. 20% deductible applies if the glass replacement cost equals or exceeds 65% of the Audatex calculation at the time of loss. Sliding roofs, glass roofs and sunroofs are not considered windscreen glass. Cabrio open roof damage is excluded. Available in Komfort and Prémium packages (as part of töréskár coverage).

Natural perils / elemental damage

Covers damage caused directly or indirectly to the insured vehicle by: fire, lightning strike, explosion, earthquake (Mercalli-Sieberg scale ≥5), landslide, rock/earth fall, collapse of natural cavity or unknown underground structure, storm, cloudburst, flood, waterlogging, water damage from pipe burst, hail, falling snow mass and snow pressure. Vandalism / third-party damage

Roadside assistance (Prémium Casco)

Replacement/rental vehicle

Within the Prémium Casco assistance services (combined limit HUF 85,000/policy period), if the vehicle cannot be made roadworthy within 24 hours of the insured event, the contracted partner arranges a self-drive rental car in Hungary and the listed European countries. Costs beyond the combined limit are borne by the insured. Damage to the rental car, its theft, or late return costs are NOT covered. Driver/passenger accident insurance (Prémium Casco)

Covers accidental death (HUF 2,000,000) and permanent disability of ≥50% (up to HUF 4,000,000 proportional to the degree of disability) for the vehicle owner, authorized driver, and passengers (excluding hitchhikers), provided the accident is causally connected to an insured event and death/disability occurs within 3 months. Benefits are per insured person. No deductible applies. For disability <50%, no benefit is paid. Final disability assessment is after 1 year; advance payment up to the death benefit amount is possible. Key conditions

driver_age_experience_limit

No specific minimum driver age or experience requirement is stated in the policy terms. However, the driver must hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle category. A claim is excluded if the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid licence for the relevant category, or under the influence of narcotics, alcohol, or other substances impairing driving ability. Note: driving with an expired licence does not count as driving without a licence if renewed within 30 days of the loss event under unchanged conditions.

repair_network_requirements

Repairs must be carried out at a Hungarian workshop (for Komfort/Prémium partial loss claims). For safety/life-protection equipment (airbags, seatbelts), only repairs at the type-identical brand dealership are reimbursed. If Groupama's Auto+ (direct repair) service is used with a contracted partner, Groupama handles administration and deducts the deductible directly; the customer may also use non-contracted workshops and submit invoices. The insurer may verify submitted invoices by requesting purchase/subcontractor receipts and inspecting the vehicle after repair.

territorial_scope

Hungary and all member countries of the Green Card System (European territory). For Prémium Casco assistance services, the territorial scope includes Hungary and a specific list of European countries (some marked * where service quality may depend on local factors). Prémium Casco baggage insurance covers losses in Hungary only (not abroad). Theft/robbery claims abroad must also be reported to the relevant foreign authority.

anti_theft_requirements

The vehicle must be properly locked (all lock cylinders intact, windows closed) and the contracted anti-theft system (alarm, tracker, etc.) named in the policy must be active. If the vehicle keys are lost, locks and the anti-theft system must be recoded or replaced at a specialist workshop immediately; until then, the vehicle must be stored in a protected location. Keys must be stored in a locked or properly guarded place. After a theft or theft attempt, all keys must be presented to the insurer. Theft cover may be excluded by endorsement (A01: missing MABISZ-rated immobiliser; A02: inability to account for all original keys; A11: missing MABISZ-rated anti-robbery device).

claim_notification_deadline

Claims must be reported to the insurer in writing within 2 business days of the occurrence or the insured's/policyholder's becoming aware of the event. Supporting documents (driver's licence, vehicle registration, logbook, police report for theft/fire) must also be submitted. Fire/explosion damage must also be reported to the fire authority. Theft and robbery must also be reported to the police; abroad, also to the relevant foreign authority. If notification is late and this makes key circumstances impossible to establish, the insurer may be released from its obligation. The insurer must receive the final loss notification within 15 days; payment is due within 15 days of receiving the last document. For theft/robbery, payment becomes due on day 75 after the police report even if investigations are ongoing (unless the vehicle is recovered earlier).

deductible_rules

A deductible (önrész) applies to each insured event as specified in the policy/certificate. The deductible consists of a percentage (10% or 20%, chosen by the policyholder at inception) AND a minimum amount (also chosen at inception). The higher of the two applies. Exception 1: No deductible if windscreen/glass is repaired without replacement. Exception 2: Only the percentage deductible (not the minimum) applies if the claim covers ONLY glass replacement cost (below 65% of Audatex calculation) or ONLY damage from a theft attempt affecting locks/security system. If glass replacement cost equals or exceeds 65% of Audatex calculation, 20% deductible applies. Exception 3: Doubled deductible (2× contractual amount) if breakage damage occurred at ≥30% above the speed limit. No deductible is charged for Prémium Casco assistance, accident, and baggage services.
