Regulatory updates
In March 2024 the MNB imposed a total of HUF 14 million in supervisory and consumer protection fines on CIG Pannónia Életbiztosító Nyrt. for deficiencies in product registration, outsourcing, reserve calculation, IT security, compliance, risk management, contract content, product oversight and complaint handling, though it stated these issues did not endanger the insurer's reliable operation. A month earlier, in February 2024, the MNB fined the non-life subsidiary CIG Pannónia Első Magyar Általános Biztosító Zrt. (EMABIT) a total of HUF 11 million for complaint-handling and customer information shortcomings.
