Key conditions

Territorial scope

Coverage applies throughout the EEA member states and Switzerland, plus Green Card system countries whose national bureau has a bilateral agreement with the Hungarian National Bureau (MABISZ).

Green card rules

The insurer issues a Green Card as proof of MTPL cover, valid in all Green Card system countries; further information is available via MABISZ's National Bureau.

Driver restrictions

The policy covers any person lawfully using the insured vehicle with the operator's consent; however, the insurer may pursue recourse (visszkereset) against the driver in cases such as driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving without a valid licence, or unauthorized use of the vehicle.

Claim notification deadline

The injured third party must report the claim to the insurer within 30 days of the event or of becoming aware of it; the policyholder/insured must report the claim in writing within 5 working days.

Bonus-malus rules

Premiums are adjusted via a mandatory bonus-malus system consisting of one base class (A00), 10 bonus classes (B01-B10) and 4 malus classes (M01-M04), reassessed at each annual renewal based on claims history under NGM Decree 21/2011 (VI. 10.).
