Coverage limits
Bodily injury liability limit
€6,450,000
Per claim event limit for bodily injury caused to third parties by the insured vehicle during use, equal to 6,450,000 EUR converted to HUF, covering claims, enforcement costs and interest.
Property damage liability limit
€1,300,000
Per claim event limit for property damage caused to third parties by the insured vehicle during use, equal to 1,300,000 EUR converted to HUF, covering claims, enforcement costs and interest.
Legal defence costs for the at-fault insured
Excluded
The insurer explicitly does not reimburse the legal representation costs of the at-fault insured; only the injured party's enforcement costs are included within the liability limits.
Green Card coverage (international insurance certificate)
Covered
The policy's territorial scope, evidenced by the Green Card, covers EEA member states, Switzerland and Green Card System countries with which the Hungarian National Bureau has a bilateral agreement.
Roadside assistance
No limit stated
The core KGFB terms and conditions and IPID do not mention roadside assistance as part of the mandatory liability cover; a separate promotional roadside-assistance benefit is offered only via the Drivello telematics app, not as part of the base policy.
Driver accident (injury to the at-fault driver)
Excluded
The policy only compensates damage caused by the insured vehicle's driver to others; injuries suffered by the at-fault driver or the operator themselves are not covered under the mandatory liability policy.
Passenger accident (injury to passengers in the insured vehicle)
Covered
Passengers travelling in the at-fault insured vehicle (other than the driver/operator) are third parties for the purposes of the law, so their bodily injury is compensated within the overall per-event bodily injury liability limit (6,450,000 EUR equivalent).
Key conditions
Territorial scope
The policy's territorial scope covers the EEA member states, Switzerland and the Green Card System countries with which the Hungarian National Bureau has concluded a bilateral agreement under the Internal Regulations.
Green card rules
The insurer issues a Green Card as proof of cover when travelling to Green Card System countries; the insurer's liability abroad follows either the contractual limits or the higher statutory limits of the country where the loss occurred, whichever is higher for the insurer.
Driver restrictions
The insurer may pursue recourse (visszkereset) against the driver or operator for damages it paid, e.g. up to 5,000,000 HUF if the driver drove under the influence of alcohol or drugs or fled the scene without helping, up to 1,500,000 HUF for driving without a valid licence or due to grossly neglected technical condition, and up to 500,000 HUF for unintentional breach of disclosure/notification duties.
Claim notification deadline
The injured third party must report the claim to the insurer within 30 days of the loss or of becoming aware of it; the insured (policyholder/driver) must report the claim in writing within 5 working days.
Bonus-malus rules
Premiums are adjusted via a statutory bonus-malus system with one base class (A00), 10 bonus classes and 4 malus classes; a claim-free 270-day observation period before the new insurance period raises the classification by one bonus class, while claims move the classification toward the malus classes, as governed by Government Decree 21/2011 (VI.10.) NGM.
