EUB is a travel insurance for the HU market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
The Insurer reimburses documented costs of medically justified emergency treatment. For services exceeding EUR 150 per insured incident, prior telephone notification to EUB-Assistance within 12 hours and written pre-approval of costs is required. Direct payment to service providers is organized by EUB-Assistance where possible; repatriation costs are paid directly by EUB-Assistance when it organizes the transport.

Hungary only (Welcome to Hungary Basic/Top); Hungary and geographic Europe (Welcome to Hungary & Europe). Does not cover the insured's country of permanent residence. Does not cover countries classified by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as category I not-recommended-for-travel regions. Belarus and Russia explicitly excluded from eligible insured persons' permanent residences.

Refund of medical and rescue expenses (total)
Covered
Total reimbursement of emergency medical assistance and rescue costs including medical examination, treatment, prescribed medicines, ambulance transport (including mountain, marine and helicopter rescue), hospital inpatient care (max. 30 days total per trip), laboratory tests, intensive care, emergency surgery, crutches/orthopaedic aids on prescription, emergency dental care and oral surgery due to accident. For the Welcome to Hungary Top product the total limit is EUR 30,000. Sub-limits: helicopter rescue EUR 10,000; ambulance transport EUR 5,000; hyperbaric chamber EUR 2,500 (Sport Plusz supplement only); emergency dental EUR 100.

Covered
Emergency (urgent) medical care covering illness or accident occurring during the insurance period within the geographical scope. The Insurer covers services of value exceeding EUR 150 only with prior EUB-Assistance notification (within 12 hours) and written pre-approval. Without prior approval only up to EUR 150 is reimbursed, except when the insured is transported to hospital by centrally dispatched ambulance to avert immediate life threat.

Hospital inpatient care (overnight stay) is covered as part of the total medical and rescue expenses limit of EUR 30,000 (Top tier). The Insurer covers hospital inpatient treatment for a maximum of 30 days in total across all insured incidents occurring during the insurance period. If multiple contracts are concluded for one trip, this 30-day limit applies jointly.

The Insurer arranges repatriation or return travel to the country of permanent residence and reimburses additional transport costs including medically justified escort, up to EUR 30,000 (Top). In terrorism-related cases, repatriation costs are covered up to HUF 30 million total for all affected insured persons.

In case of the death of the insured person within the scope of the insurance contract in connection with an insured incident, the Insurer arranges repatriation of the remains to the country of permanent residence and covers all associated costs, up to EUR 30,000 (Top). Section C covers legal costs and bail in negligent misdemeanour/criminal proceedings but does not constitute general personal liability insurance for third-party property damage or personal injury claims.

Covers bail and related procedural costs (up to EUR 2,000 for Top) and attorney fees (up to EUR 2,000 for Top) when a procedure is initiated against the insured for negligently committing a misdemeanour or criminal act within the insurance scope. Total legal cover limit: EUR 2,000 bail + EUR 2,000 attorney fees (Top). The Insurer arranges legal representation; costs not pre-approved by the Insurer are not reimbursed. Legal assistance premium represents 0.4% of total premium (Top).

Services include dispatching a doctor, guiding the insured to medical care, organising continued emergency treatment, direct payment to providers where possible, daily updates to a designated contact person on the insured's condition, and coordination of repatriation.

Assistance call deadline
Service requests for healthcare assistance (Section A) and additional travel assistance (Section B) must be reported to EUB-Assistance (+36 1 465 3666) immediately, but no later than within 24 hours of the insured incident (provided that objective possibility of notification exists). For services exceeding EUR 150 per incident, notification must be made within 12 hours and prior written approval obtained. If the insured was transported by centrally dispatched ambulance to avert immediate life threat, only services used after the life-threatening condition ceases require prior approval.
Unauthorized treatment
If the use of services related to an insured incident was not approved by EUB-Assistance or the Insurer for reasons attributable to the insured, the Insurer's service does not cover the resulting additional costs. Without prior authorisation, only costs up to EUR 150 per insured incident are reimbursed.
Purchase while abroad
The Insurer only considers valid offers submitted via the online contracting system. The earliest start of coverage is the 0th hour of the day after the conclusion of the insurance contract and payment of the premium. The insurance contract can only be concluded while the policyholder is in Hungary or the country of permanent residence of the insured.
Chronic conditions
Chronic diseases and pre-existing conditions are excluded if the contract is made without health risk assessment. Specifically excluded are diseases/accidents whose cause is, in whole or in part, a medical condition existing prior to the start of coverage, conditions requiring medical treatment within one year before the start of coverage, and conditions related to irreversible health damage established before coverage start. Psychiatric and psychological disorders are also excluded.
Pregnancy
Emergency pregnancy or obstetric care is covered up to the end of the 24th week of pregnancy only. Antenatal care, routine pregnancy testing, and infant/child care are explicitly excluded. Coverage is limited to medically urgent interventions.

Pre-existing conditions are excluded: (a) medical condition existing prior to the start of coverage (disease, complaint, symptom); (b) conditions under medical treatment within one year before coverage start or where treatment would have been medically necessary; (c) conditions related to irreversible health damage established before coverage start. Age-based coverage restrictions
For the purposes of the insurance contract, the age reached on or before the first day of cover applies. For insured persons aged 70–80, coverage extends only for a maximum of 30 days of continuous stay in Hungary (or Europe for W&E), and a 100% age surcharge is added to the premium. Persons who have turned 80 cannot be insured.
Eligible insured persons
The insured person must be a natural person whose country of permanent residence is NOT Hungary, and who has valid statutory health insurance or complete private health insurance in their country of permanent residence, or is entitled to healthcare in another way. The product is designed for foreign nationals visiting Hungary (and, for the W&E variant, Europe).
