| Key conditions | |||
Driver age experience limit | There is no standard minimum driver age for the Kasko Completa coverage itself. However, if the optional 'Guida Esperta' condition is selected on the RCA component of the same contract, the policy only covers drivers who are the vehicle owner (regardless of age) or any occasional driver aged 26 or over. If a driver outside these characteristics is at the wheel at the time of a loss, the insurer retains the right of recourse up to €5,000 under the RCA component. This restriction does not directly apply to the Kasko indemnity, but the Kasko exclusions do exclude drunk driving and drivers without a valid licence. | Conducente esperto: almeno 26 anni. Personalizzazioni tariffarie disponibili in base al tipo di guida (Conducente esperto, Conducente esclusivo e identificato, Guida per due). | No explicit minimum driver age limit specified in the policy conditions. The policy operates when the vehicle is driven by a person with a valid driving licence. Coverage also applies if the driver has passed the driving aptitude test but is awaiting licence issuance, provided the licence is issued within 120 days. Applies if the driver has an expired licence provided it is renewed within 120 days. For intoxicated drivers (excluding chronic alcoholism or certified drug addiction): coverage operates only for the first claim per insurance year with an additional 5% excess and €200 minimum non-indemnifiable deductible (Kasko Plus). |
Repair network requirements | The insured may opt for in-kind settlement (Risarcimento in forma specifica), which obliges the insured to use Allianz-affiliated bodyshops ('Carrozzeria Amica'). In return, the contractual deductible is reduced by 50%, provided a prior vehicle condition assessment was carried out with a favourable outcome. If the insured opts for this clause but does not use an affiliated bodyshop, the full contractual deductible applies. The insured may always choose a non-affiliated repairer, but in that case no deductible reduction applies. For glass claims, using affiliated glass repairers (e.g. Carglass) waives the 20% excess. | Not available | Under the 'Riparazione Diretta' tariff option, the insured is obliged to have the vehicle repaired at an 'active' UnipolService authorised repair centre (for Incendio, Furto, Atti Vandalici, Mini Kasko, Kasko, Events Naturali excluding hail) or at the 'Network specializzato grandine di UnipolService' (for hail damage). Compliance with this obligation eliminates applicable deductibles and excesses. If the insured chooses a non-conventional repairer for Incendio, Furto, Kasko, or Events Naturali (excluding hail): an additional 20% excess applies. For Atti Vandalici with a non-conventional repairer: additional 20% excess applies and no indemnity if vehicle is not repaired. Without the 'Riparazione Diretta' option, the insured may use any repairer but deductibles/excesses apply as per policy schedule. |
Territorial scope | The Kasko Completa coverage is valid, unless otherwise specified for individual guarantees, for the territory of the Italian Republic, the Vatican City and the Republic of San Marino, the States of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, the Principality of Monaco, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Croatia, as well as other States forming part of the Green Card system whose international codes shown on the Green Card are not crossed out. | Not available | The CVT (Kasko Plus) coverage operates when the vehicle is circulating in Italy, the Republic of San Marino, the Vatican City State, EU member states, and additionally: Andorra, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Principality of Monaco, United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine. Coverage for Azerbaijan, Cyprus and Serbia is limited to territories under the control of their respective governments. |
Anti theft requirements | No anti-theft device is required as a condition for Kasko Completa coverage. However, for the separate Furto (theft) guarantee, vehicles that benefit from the satellite anti-theft discount are subject to a 25% excess on the total loss indemnity if: the anti-theft device was installed without activating the required security service subscription for the duration of the insurance, technical installation documentation was not delivered to the agency, the alarm did not trigger (unless due to absence of GSM coverage), or the device was faulty. A 20% excess applies to total theft losses in specific countries regardless of the anti-theft device status. | Not available | No anti-theft device is required for Kasko Plus coverage. For the Furto coverage (sold separately), an optional 'Antifurto e Localizzatore Satellitare' tariff clause allows premium reductions if a GPS/GSM/GPRS satellite tracking device meeting specified technical requirements (EU directives, CE homologation, ISO 9001) is installed by an authorised installer and a tracking service contract is active. Without a satellite tracker on Furto: deductibles/excesses apply per policy schedule. With tracker installed and conditions met: no deductible/excess applied on total theft; if certain conditions are not met a 25% contractual excess is added. |
Claim notification deadline | The insured must notify the claim within 3 days of the event (pursuant to art. 1913 of the Civil Code), either by calling the toll-free number 800 68 68 68 (which constitutes a valid claim notification) or by written notice to the agency or insurer. For Kasko claims, the insured must refrain from carrying out repairs (except emergency repairs), disposing of or scrapping the vehicle before damage inspection by an insurer-appointed technician, unless the vehicle has already been taken to an Allianz-affiliated bodyshop. For theft, fire and vandalism claims, notification to the relevant Judicial Police Authority is also required, and a certified copy of the report must be provided to the insurer. | Entro 3 giorni dalla data in cui si è verificato il sinistro o se ne è avuta conoscenza. | The insured must report the claim to the insurer immediately and in any case within 3 days of the event or from when they became aware of it, providing all useful information and documentation (Art. 1913 Civil Code). Failure to comply may result in total or partial loss of indemnity entitlement (Art. 1915 Civil Code). For theft, robbery, misappropriation, fire and vandalism, a police report (denuncia) must also be filed and a copy sent to the insurer. Claim reports are considered complete only upon receipt of all required documentation. Without the 'Riparazione Diretta' option, the insured must not repair the vehicle before receiving the insurer's consent (within 8 working days of claim receipt). |
Deductible rules | Kasko Completa applies a contractual deductible (franchigia) and excess (scoperto) as indicated in the policy schedule. Only the minimum deductible amount may be reduced by 50%. The 50% deductible reduction is obtained if: (a) no prior vehicle condition assessment was required, OR (b) a vehicle condition assessment was requested and carried out with a favourable outcome prior to the loss. Using the Risarcimento in forma specifica option (Carrozzeria Amica) entitles the insured to the 50% deductible reduction provided the same conditions are met. If no vehicle assessment was carried out or the result was unfavourable, the full contractual deductible applies regardless of the repair network used. Deductibles and excesses are shown in the policy schedule and may vary. An example given in the policy for Kasko a primo rischio assoluto is: damage €3,000 (cap), contractual deductible €350, amount settled €2,650. | Not available | Kasko Plus: deductibles (Franchigie), excesses (Scoperti) and minimum non-indemnifiable amounts (Minimi non indennizzabili) are indicated in the policy schedule. Typical Kasko deductibles range from a minimum of €300 to a maximum of €1,500 per claim (scoperto range 10%-25%). For drunk/drugged driving (excluding chronic alcoholism): an additional 5% scoperto with €200 minimum non-indemnifiable applies, operative for first claim only per year. Under 'Riparazione Diretta' option at an active UnipolService centre: deductibles and excesses are fully eliminated. Under 'Riparazione Diretta' at a non-UnipolService repairer: an additional 20% excess applies on top of existing deductible. Proportional rule applies when insured value covers less than 90% of commercial value; does not apply if insured value equals the purchase invoice amount. |

Direct payment policy | For Kasko claims, the insured can use the simplified settlement procedure through the Allianz-affiliated bodyshop network (Carrozzeria Amica). By opting for in-kind settlement (Risarcimento in forma specifica), the insured is entitled to a 50% reduction of the contractual deductible, provided a vehicle condition assessment was carried out beforehand with a favourable outcome. Direct payment is made to the Carrozzeria Amica; the insured's remaining deductible/excess is paid by the insured directly to the bodyshop. | Generali Italia does not make direct payments to repair shops for most coverages; however, when using the SiCura authorized repair network, the vehicle is repaired without the insured advancing money and Generali Italia pays the repairer directly. For glass coverage, repairs at authorized centers are also handled without advance payment by the insured. | Claims are settled in Italy in euros within 30 days from the date the damage amount is agreed between the insurer and the insured, or from the outcome of the contractual expert procedure, subject to no indemnifiability objections and prior presentation of all required documents. For partial damages, repair via UnipolService network eliminates all deductibles and excesses. The insurer may directly arrange vehicle repair through its trusted workshop network (UnipolService) in lieu of cash indemnity with the insured's consent. |
