Regulatory updates
Triglav entered the Italian motor insurance market in 2025 as underwriter for policies distributed by Prima Assicurazioni, in a move described as its first venture into Western Europe. In June 2025, Ageas Re signed a reinsurance agreement with Triglav Group covering 80% of the 2025 Prima motor portfolio underwritten by Triglav. Triglav is registered with IVASS in the Register of Insurance Undertakings and Groups (RIGA) under number II.00480 (IVASS code 10719), admitted to operate in Italy under the Freedom to Provide Services regime pursuant to art. 24 of Legislative Decree 209/2005 (Codice delle Assicurazioni Private). According to 2025 IVASS complaints statistics released in May 2026, Triglav recorded one of the lowest complaint ratios among motor insurers active in Italy. AM Best affirmed Zavarovalnica Triglav's Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent) with a stable outlook in October 2025, noting expected significant premium growth from the Italian motor partnership with Prima Assicurazioni.
