Regulatory updates
In September 2024 IVASS approved (Provvedimento n. 0203123 del 06/09/2024) Zurich Insurance Company Ltd's request to renounce its authorization to underwrite motor third-party liability (ramo 10) business under the Zurich Connect brand; as a result, since 6 September 2024 Zurich Connect no longer issues new quotes or policies and since 6 November 2024 no longer renews auto, moto and van policies. More broadly, all Italian insurers including Zurich are subject to the new IVASS-established Arbitro Assicurativo (insurance arbitrator), operative since 15 January 2026 for out-of-court dispute resolution, following IVASS Provvedimento n. 163/2025.
