Crédit Agricole Assicurazioni S.p.A.
Crédit Agricole Assicurazioni
Crédit Agricole Assicurazioni is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Italy market with online purchase and limited assistance availability.
Direct payment
Claims are handled under the Italian direct compensation (risarcimento diretto) system governed by Title X of the Codice delle Assicurazioni Private; the policyholder's own insurer may settle qualifying motor liability claims directly, while other claims follow the general notification and settlement procedures set out in the Code.
Geographic scope
Italy
Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, the European Economic Area member states, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the Principality of Monaco, Switzerland, Serbia and Andorra; extended to other Green Card countries whose codes are not crossed out on the certificate.
Unique selling points
- Free, personalized RCA quotes can be requested directly on the insurer's website in addition to bank branches.
- Policyholders can manage their policy digitally through the reserved 'Home Insurance' online area, checking coverage, payments, and the risk status attestation.
- The new Crédit Agricole Insurance App lets customers report claims and track their status directly from their smartphone.
- The policy can be signed with a digital signature at Crédit Agricole Italia branches, through off-premises bank offers, or remotely, integrating insurance directly with the customer's banking relationship.
- Beyond the compulsory RCA, the broader Protezione Guida line lets customers select individual optional guarantees or combine them into 'Vehicle', 'Person' and 'Events' packages tailored to their needs.

Key conditions
Territorial scope
The policy is valid in Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, the European Economic Area member states, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Serbia and Andorra; the Green Card extends cover to other listed countries whose codes are not crossed out.
Green card rules
The insurer must issue the Green Card for circulation abroad; it is valid for the same period as the premium paid for the underlying policy and must be returned immediately to the insurer if the policy ceases to be valid before the Green Card's stated expiry date.
Driver restrictions
Cover does not apply if the driver is not licensed under current regulations (unless licence-point exhaustion had not yet been notified or the licence expired less than six months earlier), if a driving-school vehicle is used without a qualified instructor beside the learner, if transported third parties are carried in breach of applicable rules, or if the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs as sanctioned under articles 186/186-bis/187 of the Highway Code.
Claim notification deadline
The claim must be reported on the IVASS-approved form within three days from the date the loss occurred or the policyholder became aware of it.
Bonus-malus rules
The policy uses a Bonus/Malus tariff with 18 merit classes (from class D down to class 18) with premium coefficients ranging from 0.531 to 3.070; the class improves or worsens at each renewal depending on whether claims occurred during the observation period, and can be compared across insurers via the CU (Conversione Universale) merit class defined by IVASS Regulation No. 9/2015.
