Unauthorized treatment
Medical or transport services that the insured unilaterally decides to request and receive, without the insurer's prior knowledge or authorisation, are not covered, except in duly justified cases of emergency or force majeure.

If the policy is purchased after the trip has already started, a 72-hour waiting period applies from the date of purchase before cover becomes effective, and cover for theft of the insured luggage does not apply.
Chronic conditions
Chronic, pre-existing or congenital conditions and their consequences occurring before the policy took effect are excluded, except under Annual Multi-Trip policies (where only what occurred before the start of the specific trip is excluded); in life-threatening emergencies caused by unforeseeable complications of such conditions, only the first 24 hours of urgent hospital care are covered.
