Direct payment

If the insured must be hospitalised abroad and the expected cost exceeds €500, the insured (or someone acting on their behalf) can ask the Struttura Organizzativa to have the Company pay the covered costs directly to the foreign healthcare facility, within the contractual limits; in all other cases the insured pays the costs and is reimbursed afterwards.

Geographic scope

Worldwide for medical/assistance cover; Italy, Europe (to the Urals), Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and European Turkey for vehicle assistance

Assistenza alla Persona, Spese di Ricovero, Bagaglio, Responsabilità Civile and Annullamento apply worldwide for trips with the destination stated in the policy; Assistenza al Veicolo is limited to Italy, European countries up to the Urals, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and European Turkey; Tutela Legale applies only to claims processable in EU countries, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City and San Marino.

Unique selling points

  • ACI Global Servizi runs a dedicated 24/7 operations centre (800 095 095 in Italy, +39 02 66 165 538 abroad) to activate all assistance benefits.
  • ACI members get a 10% increase on the medical, baggage and related sub-limits at no extra cost.
  • Includes home-assistance services (electrician, locksmith, plumber, security guard, up to €100 each) for family members left behind in Italy in an emergency, unusual among travel policies.
  • Direct payment to the foreign hospital is arranged when expected treatment costs exceed €500, avoiding out-of-pocket expense for the insured.
  • Covers translation of the clinical record following hospitalisation abroad, up to €500.
