BTA
BTA is a motor casco insurance for the LT market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
BTA pays the insurance indemnity no later than 15 days from the day all information necessary to establish the insured event fact, circumstances, consequences and indemnity amount is received. At the policyholder choice, indemnity for total loss or theft may be paid in cash or by transferring an equivalent vehicle. BTA organises repairs at approved workshops and pays repair costs directly; VAT is included only if the vehicle is actually repaired and VAT has been paid and the claimant has no right to VAT deduction.

Coverage limits
Own vehicle damage (collision, fire, explosion, natural perils, third-party intentional acts)
Covered
The insured event covers any event during the policy period when the insured vehicle is damaged or destroyed due to direct, sudden and unexpected mechanical force from outside, or due to fire or explosion. Indemnity is calculated based on actual repair costs (labour, painting, replaced parts) necessary to restore the vehicle to its pre-incident condition. Three coverage variants are available: with depreciation, without depreciation, or at new value without depreciation.
Total loss (constructive total loss)
Covered
A vehicle is considered a total loss if repair is technically impossible or if repair costs would exceed 75% of the vehicle market value on the date of the insured event. Indemnity equals market value on the date of the event (or new purchase price under the new-value variant), less salvage value and deductible. The insured sum is the ceiling.
Partial loss / vehicle damage repair
Covered
For partial damage, the loss amount is determined by actual repair costs: labour, painting and replacement parts necessary to restore the damaged vehicle to pre-incident market value. Under the without-depreciation variant, new original parts prices are used without deducting depreciation provided purchase invoices are submitted. Under the with-depreciation variant, non-original or used parts prices are applied per the depreciation table in the policy.
Vehicle theft or robbery
Covered
Covers covert or overt theft of the vehicle or its parts, and robbery (seizure of the insured vehicle using or threatening physical or psychological force). An official preliminary investigation must be opened by law enforcement for full vehicle theft. Indemnity for theft equals market value on the date of the event (or new value under the respective variant), less the deductible. A percentage deductible applies to theft, no less than the unconditional deductible. If registration documents, ignition keys, spare ignition keys or alarm remote controls were left in the vehicle and this facilitated the theft, the indemnity is reduced by up to 50%.
Glass damage (windscreen and other glass breakage)
Covered
Covers sudden and unexpected damage or destruction of vehicle glass only: body glass, external mirrors and lamp glass. BTA reimburses glass repair or replacement costs. A glass breakage deductible stated in the policy certificate applies when glass is replaced at BTAs designated glass repair workshop or at a warranty service centre when insured at new value. If glass is repaired rather than replaced, no deductible applies. For trucks and buses the no-deductible repair rule applies only to the first event; the unconditional deductible applies to subsequent events.
Natural perils (storm, flood, hail, lightning, etc.)
Covered
Damage caused by natural disasters such as storms, floods, lightning, hail and similar events is covered as part of the base insured event definition. Indemnity is calculated according to the chosen coverage variant with or without depreciation or at new value.
Third-party intentional acts (vandalism, arson, robbery)
Covered
The base insured event covers sudden and unexpected damage or destruction caused by direct mechanical force from outside, which includes intentional acts by third parties such as vandalism, arson and robbery. Damage caused by the deliberate acts of the policyholder, insured person or beneficiary is explicitly excluded.
Roadside assistance (Pagalba kelyje)
Optional
Roadside assistance is available as an additional optional coverage governed by separate Roadside Assistance Insurance Terms. Within the base CASCO policy, towing and transportation costs to the nearest repair workshop are reimbursed: up to EUR 500 in Lithuania and EUR 1500 abroad for vehicles up to 3500 kg GVW, and up to EUR 800 in Lithuania and EUR 4000 abroad for vehicles over 3500 kg GVW. Vehicle storage costs after an insured event are covered up to EUR 500 for no more than five days. BTA provides 24/7 assistance by phone +370 5 2600 600.
Replacement vehicle
Excluded
A replacement vehicle is not a standard benefit under the BTA Lithuania standalone CASCO base policy per Rules Nr. 03.02. It is not listed among the additional costs reimbursed in section 12 of the terms. Replacement vehicle may be available through specific bundled or leasing products but is not part of the standalone standard CASCO terms.
Driver and passenger accident insurance
Optional
Driver and passenger accident insurance is available as an additional optional coverage selectable when concluding the CASCO policy, governed by separate Driver and Passenger Accident Insurance Terms and Conditions. The base CASCO policy does not include this coverage. When the insured risk for the vehicle ceases such as after total loss or theft with full payout, the driver and passenger accident insurance also expires.
Key conditions
driver_age_experience_limit
If the vehicle was driven by a person with less driving experience than specified in the insurance contract, the damage is not compensated. An exception applies to the first insured event only, but an additional unconditional deductible of EUR 500 is applied for that first event.
repair_network_requirements
Under the with-depreciation variant BTA selects the repair workshop and applies non-original or used parts prices. If the policyholder chooses a different workshop the indemnity is reduced to the amount for which BTAs recommended workshop could have performed the repair. Under the without-depreciation variant the policyholder may choose any repair workshop and new original parts prices apply, provided purchase invoices are submitted. Damage is not compensated based on independent valuator reports. If reparable parts need not be replaced, only repair not replacement is accepted.
territorial_scope
The insurance contract is valid in the territory indicated in the policy certificate. When Europe is indicated coverage applies in Lithuania and a listed set of European countries including Belarus, Russia European part west of the Ural mountains, Turkey European part, Ukraine and others. Coverage territory is selected at policy inception.
anti_theft_requirements
If the vehicle is stolen using the original ignition key or original anti-theft control devices the indemnity is not paid. After loss or disappearance of ignition keys or alarm remote controls, theft cover ceases until locks and or alarm are replaced and BTA is notified in writing. Alarm and other security systems must be repaired or replaced when malfunctioning. If registration documents, ignition keys, spare keys or alarm remotes were left in the vehicle and this facilitated the theft, the indemnity is reduced by up to 50%.
claim_notification_deadline
The policyholder must notify BTA immediately but no later than within 3 working days of the occurrence of the possible insured event. For vehicle theft the deadline is 1 working day for initial notification followed by submission of a written report and keys within 3 working days. Competent authorities such as police or fire brigade must also be notified immediately. If notification is given late the policyholder must prove that timely notification was not possible for objective reasons.
deductible_rules
A deductible as specified in the policy certificate applies to insured events. If multiple deductible types apply to the same risk the larger one prevails. The deductible is waived if BTA can recover the full loss from a Lithuanian MTPL insurer, or the event in Lithuania was caused by a proven third-party fault with sufficient recovery documents, or the event occurred outside Lithuania and the at-fault party had a green card MTPL policy covering full indemnity. For mutual fault events the deductible is applied proportionately. A special glass breakage deductible applies when glass is replaced not repaired. A percentage deductible no less than the unconditional deductible applies for theft. An additional unconditional deductible of EUR 500 applies if the vehicle was driven by a less-experienced driver for the first event only. An additional deductible of up to EUR 300 may apply if required vehicle photos were not submitted.
