Direct payment

BTA may organize direct vehicle repair at an approved repair shop, or pay cash indemnity to the policyholder's bank account if the policyholder declines the repair service; for total loss or theft, BTA may pay cash or transfer an equivalent replacement vehicle.

Geographic scope

Lithuania, or Lithuania plus geographic Europe if selected in the policy

If the policy states territory 'Europe', coverage extends to a defined list of European countries including Ireland, Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Iceland, Spain, Italy, UK, Cyprus, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, North Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, France, Romania, Russia (European part only, up to the Urals), San Marino, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey (European part only), Ukraine, Hungary, Germany.

Unique selling points

  • If one tire is completely destroyed in a covered event, BTA replaces two matching tires on the same axle without applying a deductible.
  • Damage, destruction or theft of additional (non-factory) equipment is reimbursed up to EUR 1,000 once per policy period, even if the equipment was not separately insured.
  • New vehicles purchased from an official dealer can be insured at their original purchase (new) value rather than depreciated market value.
  • Theft or destruction of the license plate is reimbursed up to EUR 50 without any deductible applied.
  • If keys are stolen and reported to police, BTA covers key duplication, lock replacement and security system reprogramming up to EUR 500.

Coverage limits

Own damage (collision/accident) coverage

Covered

Covers damage, destruction or loss of the insured vehicle caused by any sudden, unforeseen external mechanical force, fire or explosion during the policy period. The insured sum equals the vehicle's market value in Lithuania on the day of the event, unless the vehicle is insured under the 'new value' variant, in which case the sum equals the original purchase price.

Source

Total loss / destruction coverage

Covered

The vehicle is deemed destroyed if repair is technically impossible or repair cost would exceed 75% of the vehicle's market value on the day of the event (unless stated otherwise in the policy). Payout equals market value (or new value under the 'new value' variant) minus residual value of usable remains and any deductible.

Source

Partial damage (repair) coverage

Covered

If the vehicle is repairable, loss is calculated based on actual repair costs (labor, paint, replacement parts) needed to restore the vehicle to its pre-loss condition, capped at the insured sum. Under the 'with depreciation' variant, parts are priced at used/non-original market rates; under 'without depreciation', new original parts are used at repair-day prices.

Source

Theft and robbery coverage

Covered

Covers secret or open theft of the vehicle or its parts, and robbery (seizure of the vehicle using or threatening force). Payout equals market value (or new value under the 'new value' variant), minus deductible; a percentage deductible applies and cannot be lower than the fixed unconditional deductible stated in the policy.

Glass breakage coverage

Covered

Covers sudden and unexpected breakage of the vehicle's body glass, exterior mirrors and light glass. A specific glass-breakage deductible applies when the glass is replaced (not merely repaired) at a BTA-designated glass repair shop or authorized service center; if the glass is repaired rather than replaced, no deductible is applied.

Natural perils coverage

Covered

Covers damage, destruction or loss caused by natural forces such as storm, hail and heavy rain, as part of the general insured-event definition (sudden, unforeseen external mechanical force). No separate sub-limit is stated; payout follows the general own-damage rules.

Source

Vandalism / third-party malicious acts coverage

Covered

Covers damage caused by intentional acts of third parties (e.g. vandalism, robbery), included within the general insured-event definition. No separate sub-limit is stated.

Roadside assistance

Optional

Roadside assistance ('pagalba kelyje') is described as available either as a selectable add-on or automatically included depending on the package chosen; the exact basis is not detailed in the sources. Separately, as part of standard claim costs, BTA reimburses towing/removal expenses after a covered event up to EUR 500 (Lithuania) / EUR 1,500 (abroad) for vehicles up to 3,500 kg, and EUR 800 (Lithuania) / EUR 4,000 (abroad) for heavier vehicles.

Apdrausta transporto priemonė pakeičiama kita transporto priemone, kol šalinamas techninis gedimas arba atliekamas remontas po draudžiamojo įvykio; paslauga teikiama pagal pasirinktą papildomą riziką „Pagalba kelyje I“ ar „Pagalba kelyje II“ ir transporto priemonės nuomos bendrovės sąlygas.

Driver and passenger accident insurance

Optional

Described as available either as a selectable add-on or automatically included depending on the package ('vairuotojų ir keleivių nelaimingų atsitikimų draudimas'). The T&C confirms it exists as an ancillary cover that terminates together with the CASCO policy when the insured risk ceases.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

If the vehicle was driven by a person with less driving experience than specified in the contract, the event is treated as non-insured, except for the first such event, which is covered but subject to an additional unconditional deductible of EUR 500.

Repair network requirements

Under the 'with depreciation' variant, BTA selects the repair shop (choosing another reduces the payout to the cost at BTA's recommended shop). Under the 'without depreciation' and 'new value' variants, the policyholder may choose the repair shop.

Territorial scope

Coverage applies in the territory stated in the policy: Lithuania only, or Lithuania plus geographic Europe (a defined list of countries) if 'Europe' is selected as the territory.

Anti-theft requirements

Theft is not covered if the vehicle lacked the anti-theft equipment level specified in the policy or it malfunctioned, or if the vehicle was stolen using the original ignition key or original anti-theft control device. After a theft, registration documents, keys and alarm remotes must be handed over to BTA (unless lost in a robbery or given to police); leaving these items inside the vehicle at the time of the incident can reduce the payout by up to 50%.

Claim notification deadline

The policyholder must notify BTA without delay, and no later than within 3 working days, of a possible insured event (unless the special conditions state otherwise); competent authorities (police, fire service, emergency services) must be notified immediately.

Deductible rules

A fixed and/or percentage deductible applies per the policy schedule; where multiple deductibles could apply to the same risk, only the higher one is used. Special deductibles apply to glass replacement, and to theft/robbery (percentage deductible, never lower than the fixed unconditional deductible). An additional EUR 500 unconditional deductible applies for the first event caused by an under-experienced driver. Additional deductibles may also apply if required vehicle photographs are not submitted.
