Direct payment

The claim payment is based on documented repair costs. If documents proving the repair costs are not submitted, the insurer may only pay after giving consent, calculating the loss using its own average hourly repair rates and part prices (excluding VAT unless the policyholder cannot reclaim it).

Geographic scope

Europe (scope depends on the territorial option chosen in the policy)

Two territorial options are available: 'Europe (with exceptions)' covering EU member states (excluding the UK and Ireland) plus Norway, Switzerland, Belarus and the Kaliningrad region; or 'Geographic Europe' covering the whole of geographic Europe.

Unique selling points

  • 24/7 roadside assistance across the entire territory of the policy, with real-time SMS tracking of the technician's arrival.
  • Under the Extended package, no deductible applies to broken glass, hail/storm/wind/lightning damage, animal collisions, or paintless dent repair.
  • The replacement vehicle can be delivered directly to any customer-specified location in Lithuania within 24 hours under the Extended package.
  • The Extended risk package additionally covers passenger luggage, child car seats, transported pets, external accessories and towed trailers.
  • A 20% discount on compulsory MTPL insurance is granted when it is purchased together with KASKO.

Coverage limits

Own damage / all-risks cover

Covered

Losses from theft, damage or destruction of the vehicle are compensated for all sudden and unforeseen incidents caused by an unexpected external force during the policy period, except for excluded events, and this all-risks clause (No. 3) applies in all three condition packages (Minimal, Basic, Extended).

Source

Total loss / destruction cover

Covered

The vehicle is deemed destroyed if repair is technically impossible, economically unreasonable (repair cost equals or exceeds the sum insured less residual value), or repair cost exceeds 75% of the sum insured; the payout equals the sum insured (New Value variant) or market value (Market Value variant) less residual value.

Source

Partial damage / repair cover

Covered

If the vehicle can be repaired under normal conditions, the loss equals the repair cost; the claim is paid on presentation of documents confirming the repair costs incurred.

Source

Theft / robbery cover

Covered

Theft or robbery of the vehicle (as defined under the Lithuanian Criminal Code) is covered under the all-risks clause in every package; cover requires the vehicle to have been locked and its required anti-theft security system active at the time of the incident.

Source

Glass breakage cover

Covered

Glass breakage is covered as part of the all-risks clause in all packages. A deductible waiver additionally applies: in the Basic package only for front windscreen/headlight glass (No. 8.1), and in the Extended package for any single exterior glass (windows, headlights, sunroof, mirrors, No. 8.2), provided only one glass item is damaged and repair/replacement is done at the insurer's chosen glass repair company; repair at an authorised dealer without a deductible additionally requires a valid manufacturer warranty (No. 8.3, Extended only).

Natural perils (hail, storm, wind, lightning)

Covered

Damage from hail, wind, storm or lightning is covered under the all-risks clause in all packages, with the standard deductible applying in the Minimal and Basic packages; only in the Extended package (No. 23) is the deductible waived for such damage.

Vandalism / third-party unlawful acts

Not established from the insurer's documents

The IPID lists 'unlawful acts of third parties' among the core insured risks, and damage of this kind is captured by the all-risks clause (No. 3) applicable in every package.

€7 – €14

Only in Pagrindinis, Išplėstinis

A replacement vehicle is provided if repair takes longer than 1 working day: up to 7 days in the Basic package, and up to 10 days in the Extended package if towing was necessary or not necessary; extension, delivery to a location in Lithuania and return of the replacement vehicle is available for up to 14 days, but only in the Extended package. Not available in the Minimal package. For an insured EV requiring mandatory post-repair systems testing, the replacement vehicle is provided without the day limit until repair is finished.

Driver and passenger accident cover

Optional

By mutual agreement, explicitly noted on the policy, the driver and passengers can be insured against accidents together with the vehicle; the sum insured per seat is agreed individually and the payout percentage is determined using the injury scale in Table 6 (e.g. 100% for death, up to 100% for severe disability).

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

The minimum age and driving experience of the vehicle's authorised drivers are always relevant to the cover; failing to meet the agreed criteria may lead to restrictions on the cover or affect the size of the claim payout, so these criteria must be discussed and fixed in the contract in advance.

Repair network requirements

The contract fixes one of two repair-shop variants: 'Repair chosen by the policyholder' (restoration may be carried out at a repair shop of the customer's choice within Lithuania, subject to certain exceptions) or 'Repair chosen by the insurer' (restoration is carried out at the insurer's chosen shop; if repair is done elsewhere without consent, the insurer determines the loss amount itself).

Territorial scope

The contract specifies one of two territorial variants: 'Europe (with exceptions)' — EU member states (except the UK and Ireland) plus Norway, Switzerland, Belarus and the Kaliningrad region, or 'Geographic Europe' — the whole geographic territory of Europe.

Anti-theft requirements

The vehicle must have the anti-theft security system level specified in the contract installed and functioning before the cover starts; the vehicle must be locked at the time of theft/attempted theft (all windows, doors and sunroof closed and locked, all installed anti-theft devices activated, ignition keys and remote controls removed), otherwise the claim may be reduced or refused.

Claim notification deadline

The insurer must be contacted immediately, and no later than 3 business days, after any event, via phone (19111) or online at www.compensa.lt; theft or damage must additionally be reported to the competent state authorities immediately, without leaving the scene, in the cases specified in the rules.

Deductible rules

A deductible (fixed amount, percentage, or waiting period) is unconditionally subtracted from each claim unless stated otherwise; specific clauses waive the deductible in narrower circumstances — e.g. single-glass damage repaired at the insurer's chosen glazier (Basic: front glass only; Extended: any exterior glass), paintless dent repair, hail/storm/wind/lightning damage and animal-collision damage (Extended package only) — while theft claims are subject to a percentage deductible no lower than the contractual fixed deductible.
