Repairs must generally be carried out at insurer-approved workshops listed on gjensidige.lt. Under the Maxi variant, the policyholder may choose their own repair workshop (prior written notification required). For Mini and Midi variants, repair must be at an insurer-nominated workshop. Compensation is paid based on documented repair invoices. If repairs are not carried out or invoices not provided, loss is assessed without VAT.

  • Glass damage (windscreen and other glass) covered with no deductible and unlimited claims per policy year for passenger cars across all variants, without requiring a separate glass add-on.

  • Key theft coverage (clause 7.18) compensates lock replacement, new key fabrication, and alarm reprogramming up to 600 EUR (Maxi), 300 EUR (Midi), or 150 EUR (Mini) — automatically included without separate endorsement.

Coverage limits

Own damage (all risks)

Covered

The vehicle is covered against all sudden and unexpected events occurring during the policy period, including collision, fire, explosion, natural forces, third party acts and theft, except for exclusions listed in Section 5. The insured sum equals market value at date of loss (or contract-specified sum). Total loss is declared when repair costs exceed 75% of market value.

Source

Total loss

Covered

The vehicle is declared a total loss when repair costs after the insured event exceed 75% of the vehicle's market value on the date of the event, or 75% of the insured sum stated in the contract. The loss amount equals the market value on the day of the event, reduced by the salvage value. After payment, insurer acquires ownership rights. For theft without recovery, loss equals market value at date of loss (or contract sum for 'new value' cover).

Source

Partial loss (repair costs)

Covered

The vehicle is considered partially damaged when repair costs are less than 75% of market value on the date of the event or 75% of the insured sum. Loss amount is the costs necessary to restore the vehicle to its pre-event condition. Depreciation applies to parts under Midi/Mini variants; no depreciation applies to parts under Maxi (and optionally Midi for additional premium) for vehicles up to 3 years old.

Theft and robbery

Covered

Covers theft of the vehicle or its parts (per Lithuanian Criminal Code Art. 178) and robbery (Art. 180), including damage caused during theft/robbery. Coverage is void if the anti-theft system was not activated or did not meet the required protection level (Levels 1–4 defined in Table 2), if keys or remote controls were left in the vehicle, if windows/doors were left open, or if parts were not assembled in the vehicle. After payout, if the vehicle is recovered within 15 calendar days, the policyholder may return the payout and reclaim the vehicle, or transfer ownership to insurer.

Glass damage (Stiklų draudimas)

Covered

If only the vehicle's glass (body glass, external mirror glass, or light glass) is damaged or destroyed in an insured event and the glass is replaced or repaired at insurer-nominated workshops (for Maxi variant: also at official dealer workshops), the deductible is not applied. The number of claims per policy period is unlimited for vehicles up to 3,500 kg. For vehicles over 3,500 kg, the deductible waiver applies to only one event per policy period. The condition does not apply in cases of theft.

Natural perils (Gamtos jėgos)

Covered

Covers damage caused by: storm (wind gusts exceeding 18 m/s), hail (ice pellets 10 mm or larger in diameter), flood (unusual, sudden rise of surface water bodies; not applicable in areas flooded more than once every 7 years), heavy rain (15 mm or more precipitation within 12 hours or less), and direct lightning strike causing fire. Hydrostrike (water ingress through standard vehicle openings while driving through rain puddles without warning signs) is also covered with specific limits per variant: Maxi 3,500 EUR, Midi 2,500 EUR, Mini 1,500 EUR.

Third party acts / vandalism (Trečiųjų asmenų veika)

Covered

Covers damage to the vehicle, its parts or additional equipment caused by the intentional acts of third parties (arson, explosion caused by third parties), provided this does not constitute theft or attempted theft. Police confirmation of damage is required.

Replacement vehicle (Pakaitinis automobilis)

Covered

A replacement vehicle (M1 category only, up to class C) is provided as part of roadside assistance (Section 049/3) when repairs after an insured event or mechanical failure cannot be completed on the same day, or when the vehicle is stolen. Available in Lithuania for up to 14 days. Abroad: up to 14 days, up to 50 EUR per day, only after towing service or theft. Fuel, additional rental period, and return costs in another country are not covered. Insured events include bone fractures, brain concussion, burns (2nd-4th degree), soft tissue injuries, internal organ contusions, joint dislocations, and gas/chemical poisoning. Payout is calculated as a percentage of the agreed insured sum based on injury severity per the injury table (Annex 3). Death benefit: full insured sum less any prior payments. Key conditions

driver_age_experience_limit

The policy must specify a driver group with minimum age and experience requirements. If an accident occurs when a driver younger or with less experience than specified in the contract is driving, an additional excess of 250 EUR applies for the first event (or 500 EUR if both conditions are violated). Subsequent events with such a driver are treated as non-insured events and no payout is made.

repair_network_requirements

For Midi and Mini variants, repairs must be performed at insurer-nominated workshops listed on www.gjensidige.lt. For the Maxi variant, the policyholder may choose their own repair workshop, but must notify the insurer in writing before repair begins, stating the workshop name. If the policyholder refuses insurer-nominated workshops or orders an independent assessment without written agreement, the loss will be calculated according to the insurer's workshop rates and time standards.

territorial_scope

Coverage is valid in the territory indicated in the policy: Lithuania only, or Europe (defined list of countries). The European territory does not include Belarus, Russia, or Ukraine per the IPID. Roadside assistance under package '4x4' is valid only in Lithuania; under '4x4 Turbo' it is valid across the defined European territory.

anti_theft_requirements

For theft coverage to be valid, the vehicle must have an operating anti-theft system at the required protection level (Levels 1–4 defined in Table 2 of the T&C). The required level is stated in the policy certificate. A certificate from an authorised installer confirming the system meets the required level must be provided, issued no later than the policy effective date. Coverage is void if: the system was not activated or malfunctioning; the level was insufficient; GPRS/GSM tracking system contract conditions were violated; the vehicle was left unlocked, with windows open, or with keys/remotes inside.

claim_notification_deadline

The policyholder must notify the insurer of an insured event immediately, but no later than within 3 (three) business days (by phone: 1626 in Lithuania, +370 5 272 1626 from abroad, or via the self-service portal www.gjensidige.lt). Failure to notify within the deadline may result in a reduction or denial of the claim payout, unless the insurer learned of the event in time through other means. For roadside assistance, notification must be made immediately from the scene by phone.

deductible_rules

A mandatory deductible (besąlyginė išskaita) applies to each claim and is deducted from the loss amount. The deductible amount is stated in the policy certificate. The deductible is NOT applied in the following cases: (1) 'Deductible waiver if culprit identified' – when a recognised at-fault third party (Lithuanian citizen, Lithuanian-registered legal entity, foreign national residing permanently in Lithuania, or party with applicable insurance) is identified and the insurer acquires subrogation rights; if both parties are at fault, deductible applies proportionally; (2) 'Glass damage' condition – when only glass is damaged and repaired/replaced at nominated workshops; (3) Benefits under clauses 7.14–7.22 (single-event ancillary benefits). An additional excess of 250 EUR (or 500 EUR if both conditions breached) applies when a driver not meeting the contract's age/experience requirements causes an accident during the first policy year.
