Direct payment

By default the vehicle is repaired at an If partner repair shop and If settles the invoice directly with the repairer; if the policy allows the client to choose the repair shop, costs are reimbursed against the repairer's invoice up to the manufacturer representative's price sheet; if the policyholder declines repair, If pays a cash indemnity calculated at average partner-network rates, net of VAT where recoverable.

Geographic scope

Nationwide (Lithuania)

Coverage territory is chosen at policy conclusion and stated in the policy: either Lithuania only, or 'geographic Europe', which includes EU/EEA states, the UK, Balkan states, Switzerland, the European part of Turkey, and the CIS states Belarus, Moldova and the European part of Russia west of the Urals (up to 50° east longitude).

Unique selling points

  • 24/7 roadside assistance across geographic Europe, with services worth up to €2,500 covered per event.
  • Free replacement vehicle provided within 24 hours for the entire repair period when the car is unsafe to drive and repaired at a partner or authorised workshop.
  • Deductible is waived for a defined set of common claim types, including glass repairs, storm/flood/lightning damage and animal collisions.
  • The enhanced 'If geriausias kasko' variant applies only one deductible per claim even for multiple reported damages, and removes the deductible entirely for tyre-only damage.
  • New-for-old (replacement value) cover is available for cars up to 2 years old with under 60,000 km, rather than depreciated market value.

Coverage limits

Own-damage / comprehensive cover

Covered

Only in automobilio draudimas rinkos verte, automobilio draudimas nauja verte

Core complex cover for damage, destruction or loss of the insured vehicle. The sum insured equals either the vehicle's market value on the loss date, or, if new-value insurance is chosen, the value stated in the purchase contract; this is the maximum payable per event.

Source

Total loss (destruction) cover

Covered

A vehicle is deemed destroyed when repair is technically impossible or economically unreasonable (repair cost equals or exceeds sum insured minus residual value). The indemnity equals the sum insured less the vehicle's residual (salvage) value, less the deductible.

Source

Partial damage / repair cover

Covered

Necessary repair costs to restore the vehicle to its pre-loss condition are reimbursed, up to the sum insured, either via a partner repair shop invoice or, if the client-chosen-workshop option applies, against agreed invoices, less the deductible.

Source

Theft and robbery cover

Covered

Loss due to theft or robbery of the vehicle is indemnified at the full sum insured, less the deductible; cover is void if insurer-required anti-theft devices were not properly fitted, or if keys/documents were left in the vehicle.

Source

Glass breakage cover

Covered

Breakage or destruction of body glass, mirrors and lights is covered as part of the complex-cover risk list; the deductible is waived for M1-category vehicles on every claim (once per policy term for other categories) if repaired at a designated glass shop or, for new-value cover, an authorised dealer.

Source

Natural forces (storm, flood, lightning, hail) cover

Covered

Damage from natural forces is one of the complex-cover risks; the deductible is waived for direct storm, flood or lightning damage (e.g. a fallen tree), though not for damage arising from the driver's own reaction to weather conditions (e.g. skidding).

Source

Vandalism cover

Covered

Damage caused by vandalism is listed among the standard complex-cover risks and is indemnified on the same basis as other own-damage claims, less the deductible.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

If the vehicle was driven, and the at-fault driver has less driving experience than the minimum stated in the policy, the indemnity is reduced by the amount specified in the policy.

Repair network requirements

By default the vehicle is repaired at an If-designated partner workshop, whose repair estimate determines the indemnity; if the policy specifies the client-choice option, the vehicle may be repaired at any workshop in Lithuania after agreeing the repair estimate with If in advance, capped at the manufacturer representative's price sheet.

Territorial scope

Cover applies within the territory chosen in the policy: Lithuania only, or geographic Europe, which includes EU/EEA countries, the UK, the Balkans, Switzerland, the European part of Turkey, and the CIS states Belarus, Moldova and the European part of Russia west of the Urals.

Anti-theft requirements

The policyholder must install the insurer-required anti-theft systems at a designated installer before the specified date (or before cover starts if no date is set), and must provide a certificate confirming the devices meet the required security level on request.

Claim notification deadline

Events must be reported within 3 working days via the If website (or by phone +370 5 210 8800 if without internet access); vehicle theft must be reported within 1 working day.

Deductible rules

The deductible is a fixed amount and/or a percentage of the loss (the larger of the two applies) and is applied separately to each claimed event. It is waived in specific cases, including: registration plate damage, paintless dent removal, collision with an animal, engine hydro-shock, direct storm/flood/lightning damage, certain glass repairs, and cases fully recoverable from an identified at-fault third party. Under the enhanced 'If geriausias kasko' cover variant, only one deductible is applied per claim even if several damage events are reported together, and the deductible is waived entirely for tyre-only damage on M1/N1 vehicles.
