Lietuvos draudimas
Lietuvos draudimas is a travel insurance for the LT market with online purchase and limited assistance availability.
Direct payment
For medical expenses up to EUR 300, the insured pays out of pocket and claims reimbursement within 30 calendar days of returning to Lithuania via tel. 1828 (Lithuania) or +370 5 266 6612 (abroad) or via self-service at www.savasld.lt. If costs exceed EUR 300 or hospitalisation is required, the insurer must be notified immediately. In Egypt, OPS International must be contacted before any medical treatment.

Medical expenses due to COVID-19 are covered under the medical expenses insurance variant provided that COVID-19 is not the disease for which a pandemic has been declared at the time of the insured event. Assistance call deadline
If the cost of medical services exceeds EUR 300 or hospitalisation is required, notify the insurer immediately (within 24 hours). If costs are EUR 300 or less, the insured pays out of pocket and submits a reimbursement request within 30 calendar days of returning to Lithuania. In Egypt, OPS International (+370 5 259 1114 or ld@ops24.eu) must be contacted before any medical facility.
Unauthorized treatment
If the insured is treated in a hospital or transferred medically to Lithuania or if remains are transported/buried without prior written insurer approval, these costs will not be reimbursed. Pre-authorisation from the insurer is required for inpatient treatment, medical transport, repatriation, and accompanying person expenses (clauses 52.24–52.27).
Purchase while abroad
The insurance contract must be concluded before the trip begins. Coverage for medical expenses, baggage, civil liability, and accident insurance commences no earlier than when the insured crosses the Lithuanian state border upon departure from Lithuania. Unexpected travel expenses coverage commences from the date indicated in the policy, provided the premium has been paid.
Chronic conditions
Chronic diseases are generally excluded. Exception: treatment of chronic diseases when there is an immediate threat to the insured's life is covered (clause B.6.52.4). Exacerbations of chronic diseases without life threat are not reimbursed. Oncological, mental, and neurological diseases are fully excluded regardless of the stage.
Pregnancy
Emergency medical assistance due to pregnancy complications is covered up to EUR 200 per policy period. Exception: ectopic pregnancy – no EUR 200 limit applies. Routine pregnancy consultations, termination, childbirth, and postnatal care are excluded. All diseases related to pregnancy, its termination, and childbirth are excluded (clause B.6.52.5).
pre_existing_conditions
Diseases known or commencing before the entry into force of the insurance contract are generally not reimbursed (clause B.6.52.1). Exception: sudden acute attacks caused by pre-existing conditions that create a life-threatening situation for the insured are covered. All oncological, mental, and neurological diseases are excluded regardless of prior knowledge.
coverage_duration_limit
The insurance contract is concluded for the selected travel period. If the insured's return or transport to Lithuania is impossible due to health condition, the coverage for that condition may be extended by up to 28 calendar days (clause 49). The maximum permitted stay in the selected destination country must be specified in the insurance certificate.
