  • 24/7 roadside assistance is systematically included in the base formula, covering Luxembourg and abroad with no additional premium required.
  • Only two clearly structured plans (Essentielle and Intégrale) with modular add-on packs, ensuring transparent coverage and no hidden gaps.
  • Replacement vehicle provided for up to 60 days after an accident — duration fixed at subscription with no post-claim surprises.
  • Material damage bonus-malus protection offered free of charge to policyholders who have reached the best bonus level (-3), preserving premium savings after a first claim.

International Insurance Certificate (Green Card)

Covered

The policy applies in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and all countries listed on the International Insurance Certificate (formerly green card). Coverage in foreign countries follows local law applicable at the place of accident. Baloise Luxembourg authorises the Luxembourg Bureau of Automobile Insurers (and equivalent bureaux abroad) to handle claims on its behalf.

24/7 Roadside Assistance

Covered

24/7 roadside assistance is systematically included in the Drive base (Essentielle) formula, both in Luxembourg and abroad. Covers breakdown assistance, towing, and repatriation of the vehicle. Includes assistance in Luxembourg and the Grande Région, as well as international assistance. Services must be arranged through Baloise Assistance; costs incurred without prior approval are not reimbursed except in justified emergencies.

Protected driver cover (Conducteur Protégé)

Covered

Systematically included in the Drive base (Essentielle) formula. Covers bodily injury to the driver of the insured vehicle even when the driver is at fault. Covers medical expenses, hospitalisation, disability, and death following a road accident. Applies to the regular driver, including when using a replacement vehicle provided after a claim or during travel abroad. The exact insured sum is specified in the Conditions Particulières.

Passenger bodily injury (via RC liability)

Covered

Passengers are covered as third parties under the mandatory bodily injury liability (RC auto). The RC auto covers bodily injury caused to all transported persons in the insured vehicle, including passengers. Coverage is unlimited as per Luxembourg law. Note: this is liability coverage protecting passengers as third parties, not a personal accident cover for passengers.

Key conditions

territorial_scope

Coverage applies in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and in all countries listed on the International Insurance Certificate (formerly green card). For accidents abroad, local legislation in force at the place of the accident applies. Additional guarantees may be required for extended travel outside Luxembourg.

green_card_rules

By subscribing to the RC (third-party liability) guarantee, the insured authorises the Luxembourg Bureau of Automobile Insurers and equivalent bureaux in foreign countries to receive notifications, investigate, and settle claims on their behalf in accordance with local law. Baloise Luxembourg may provide or pay bail when the driver is detained or the vehicle seized, subject to reimbursement.

driver_restrictions

All drivers authorised by the policyholder or the owner to use the insured vehicle are covered. The policy covers private passenger cars (excluding special use), campervans, and small utility vehicles (vans). Vehicles must be registered in Luxembourg. Drivers must hold a valid driving licence recognised by the legislation of the country where the accident occurs.

claim_notification_deadline

Claims must be reported within 8 days of their occurrence to Baloise Assurances Luxembourg. Declaration is possible 24/7 via the myBaloise online portal or the emergency assistance line (+352 294 141). Claims can also be reported at an agency or through the insured's agent.

bonus_malus_rules

Luxembourg operates two separate bonus-malus systems. The RC bonus-malus scale runs from -3 (best bonus) to +22 (highest malus), with 11 as the neutral starting point. Each claim-free year reduces the level by 1 point; each at-fault accident increases it by 3 points. An optional 'Material Damage Bonus Protection' guarantee maintains the bonus-malus level after the first claim; this guarantee is offered free of charge to customers who have reached the -3 bonus level.
