Regulatory updates
In October 2025, ONVZ and VGZ announced a strategic partnership; on 22 December 2025 the Dutch competition authority (ACM) approved the deal, allowing a phased transition starting 1 February 2026. From 1 January 2027, VGZ will become the risk carrier for ONVZ's basic and supplementary health insurance policies and will take over health-care purchasing, while the ONVZ brand and its own customer service will continue to exist.
