Unique selling points

  • No-claim discount builds up to a maximum of 80% off your premium for every claim-free year.
  • Roadside assistance after an accident is included as standard in the WA module, both in the Netherlands and abroad, covering vehicle recovery and taxi/train costs.
  • Direct Claims Settlement (DSA) lets you report and settle material-damage claims immediately when the other Dutch-registered party is liable.
  • Klaverblad can advance foreign liability bail bonds interest-free up to €100,000 if a foreign authority demands a security deposit.
  • The policy is fully modular: combine the mandatory WA cover with Casco, Traffic Legal Assistance, or Passenger Accident cover exactly as needed.

Roadside assistance after an accident

Covered

No limit stated

If you can no longer drive after a covered accident, you are entitled to help: in the Netherlands your car is towed to a repair shop and passengers are taken by taxi to a Dutch address; abroad the car is taken to a repair shop, and if repairs take longer than 4 working days the car and passengers are brought to the Netherlands, with 2nd class train and taxi costs reimbursed. No specific euro cap is stated for this base benefit; a separate €150 cap applies only to extra roadside help costs for holders of a full casco policy.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

Coverage applies in the Netherlands and in all other countries listed on the Green Card that are not crossed out; a higher liability amount is paid if required by the law of the country where damage occurs.

Green card rules

The Green Card issued with the policy shows in which countries the insurance is valid and which emergency number to call for roadside assistance abroad; countries crossed out on the card are not covered.

Driver restrictions

No cover applies if the driver has no valid licence, has a driving ban, drove under the influence of alcohol/drugs above the legal limit or medication affecting driving ability, refused a breath/saliva/urine/blood test, displayed dangerous driving behaviour, or took part in speed races or contests.

Claim notification deadline

Report damage as soon as possible; if you report the claim more than 3 years after the event, Klaverblad will no longer process the claim.

Bonus-malus rules

Premium and no-claim discount are based on a no-claim scale ranging from 0% to a maximum of 80% discount; a claim-free year moves you up the scale, while claims cause you to drop back a number of steps depending on the number of claims in that year.
