Direct payment

Cashless repair settlement is available exclusively through the TUW partner workshop network (Serwis or Warsztat Partnerski variants). Compensation is settled based on workshop invoices for parts and labour. In the Kosztorys variant, settlement is based on TUW's own estimate only (no invoice-based settlement).

Geographic scope

All of Poland

Coverage applies to all European countries; theft coverage excludes Belarus, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine (extension available on request with Centrala consent and additional premium).

Unique selling points

  • All-Risk coverage (ubezpieczenie All Risk) covering all causes of damage not explicitly excluded, including collision, natural perils, vandalism, and theft — no list of named perils required.
  • Vehicles insured up to 15 years of age, significantly broader age eligibility than many Polish market competitors.
  • The Warsztat Partnerski variant includes a complimentary 'Door to Door' service — vehicle pickup, transport to and from a partner workshop, and delivery of a replacement car (up to class D) — at no additional premium and without reducing the insurance sum.
  • Guaranteed Insurance Sum option extended to vehicles up to 7 years of age (WU-14.17), protecting new-vehicle policyholders from market depreciation on total loss or theft claims for a longer period than the prior 3-year window.
  • As a mutual insurance society (Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Wzajemnych), TUW offers membership discounts (staz membership, Large Family Card, agricultural union membership) and profit-sharing benefits not available from joint-stock insurers.

Coverage limits

Own vehicle damage (collision, accident, natural events, vandalism, etc.)

Covered

All-Risk coverage for damage, destruction, or loss of the insured vehicle and its equipment caused by any event not explicitly excluded. Maximum indemnity is capped at the insurance sum (market value of vehicle at policy inception). Applies across all three variants: Serwis, Warsztat Partnerski, and Kosztorys. Settlement method and parts quality differ by variant.

Source

Total loss

Covered

Total loss is determined when the estimated maximum repair cost in the chosen variant exceeds 70% of the vehicle's market value at the time of loss. Compensation equals the vehicle's market value on the date of loss minus the salvage value (Wartość pozostałości), determined by auction-portal bids. With the Guaranteed Insurance Sum option, the basis is the vehicle value at policy inception for up to 7 years of use.

Source

Partial loss (repair cost ≤70% of vehicle value)

Covered

Partial loss applies when the estimated maximum repair cost does not exceed 70% of vehicle market value. Settlement is based on TUW's repair estimate or, in Serwis and Warsztat Partnerski variants, on repair invoices. Parts quality: Serwis uses 'O' (OEM) parts; Warsztat Partnerski uses 'Q' (OEM-equivalent) parts; Kosztorys uses 'P' parts. Depreciation (amortisation) applies in Serwis and Warsztat Partnerski variants and can be waived for an additional premium. In Kosztorys, no depreciation is applied to spare parts. Labour rate in Kosztorys and estimate-based settlement is 85 PLN/h net.

Theft, burglary, robbery of vehicle

Covered

Theft (kradzież, kradzież z włamaniem, rozbój) of the insured vehicle is covered under the All-Risk scope. Compensation equals vehicle market value at date of loss. Theft of motorcycles, mopeds, scooters, and quads is excluded by default but can be added with Centrala consent and additional premium. Theft cover excludes events in Belarus, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine by default (extension available). Anti-theft device requirements apply per §19. Claim requires police notification within 24 hours, vehicle deregistration, and transfer of ownership to TUW.

Glass damage (windscreen and other glazing)

Covered

Damage to vehicle glazing is covered under the All-Risk base cover as part of vehicle damage, subject to the standard settlement rules of the chosen variant. No separate glass-only benefit or sub-limit is stated in the OWU WU-14.17; glass is settled as part of the general partial or total loss claim. A separate AutoSzyby product exists but is not part of this Autocasco policy.

Source

Natural perils (storm, hail, flood, fire, etc.)

Covered

Damage caused by natural perils (storm, hail, flood, lightning, fire, and other natural events) is covered under the All-Risk scope. There is no separate sub-limit for natural perils; the insurance sum (vehicle market value) constitutes the maximum indemnity. Exclusions include damage caused by ionising radiation or radioactive contamination.

Source

Vandalism (intentional damage by third parties)

Covered

Intentional damage to the insured vehicle by third parties is covered under the All-Risk base cover. Damage caused intentionally by the policyholder or persons in the same household is excluded. Damage caused during riots, civil commotion, or military action is also excluded.

Towing and parking reimbursement (within AC)

Covered

Within the insurance sum, TUW reimburses towing or transport costs and parking costs (up to 14 days, but max 3 days after TUW inspection) incurred after an insured event. For cars, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles/mopeds (up to 3.5t GVW): up to 10% of insurance sum but not more than 1,000 PLN. For trailers up to 3.5t: up to 1,500 PLN. For other vehicles: up to 5,000 PLN. If the insured used the TUW Assistance Standard policy for towing and costs exceeded the Assistance limit, AC reimburses the difference. If Assistance was not used, AC reimburses towing costs minus a 400 PLN deduction (or EUR 200 equivalent abroad). This is reimbursement only — not a 24/7 dispatch service; a separate AutoAssistance product provides full roadside assistance.

Replacement vehicle (optional flat-rate add-on)

Optional

Available as an optional paid extension for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and trucks up to 3.5t GVW. Provides a flat-rate daily allowance of 130 PLN per day of the technological repair time, subject to: minimum repair time of 2 days; for total loss or theft claims — flat rate paid for 5 days; maximum 7 days per claim and per policy period regardless of number of claims. The flat rate is paid together with the main claim settlement. In the Warsztat Partnerski variant, a complimentary replacement car (up to class D/segment D) is also provided via the 'Door to Door' service without reducing the insurance sum; this is a separate benefit independent of the optional Pojazd Zastępczy rider.

Driver accident / personal accident benefit

Excluded

Personal accident or bodily injury benefits for the driver are not covered under this Autocasco policy. A separate NNW (accident insurance) product is available from TUW for such cover.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

A mandatory excess of 15% of the settled claim applies in every loss where the driver at the time of the event is a third party (not named in the policy) aged under 25 or holding a driving licence for less than 24 months. When both conditions apply simultaneously, only one excess of 20% is charged. The excesses can be waived by the policyholder for an additional premium. These excesses apply exclusively to policies taken out for individuals or sole traders; they do not apply to: policies where the named insured/user is under 25 or has held a licence for less than 2 years and has been declared as such, fleet policies, or extensions for Additional Equipment, Luggage, Keys Loss, and Replacement Vehicle.

Repair network requirements

In the Warsztat Partnerski variant, the vehicle must be repaired at a TUW partner workshop. Cashless (bezgotówkowa) repair settlement is available only through the partner network. The labour rate cap in the Warsztat Partnerski variant is the maximum rate applied by non-authorised partner workshops in the area of the insured's residence; in the Serwis variant, the cap is the authorised service (ASO) rate in the area of residence. In the Kosztorys variant, settlement is estimate-based only (no invoice settlement); the labour rate is 85 PLN/h net.

Territorial scope

Coverage applies to all European countries. Theft coverage is excluded for events occurring in Belarus, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine. Extension of theft coverage to those territories is possible only on application to TUW Centrala, on individually negotiated terms, and upon payment of an additional premium. For partial losses abroad, TUW reimburses only provisional/temporary repair costs (up to EUR 1,000 based on original receipts; above EUR 1,000 based on TUW's own estimate). Final repair costs incurred in Poland are settled under Polish rules.

Anti-theft requirements

Anti-theft devices with valid certification are required as a condition of theft coverage. For passenger and light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5t): up to 100,000 PLN gross value — one electronic device (alarm or immobiliser); 100,001–300,000 PLN — two different electronic devices; above 300,000 PLN — two electronic devices plus an active GPS tracking device with a monitoring contract. For trucks 3.5t–heavy/buses: up to 300,000 PLN — one electronic device; above 300,000 PLN — two electronic devices. Agricultural tractors, trailers, and semi-trailers are exempt. For motorcycles/mopeds/scooters/quads with theft coverage extension, anti-theft requirements are determined individually.

Claim notification deadline

The insured must notify TUW of a loss no later than 5 business days from the date of becoming aware of the event. In the event of vehicle theft, notification must be made no later than 2 business days. Police must be notified of theft within 24 hours. For theft, the insured must also submit all keys/remote controls and vehicle documentation. The insured must not make changes to the damaged vehicle before TUW's representative has conducted an inspection (within 5 business days of loss notification); if TUW does not inspect within this period, changes may be made. Additional damage discovered during repair must be promptly notified to TUW.

Deductible rules

A voluntary excess of 10% of the settled claim can be introduced at the policyholder's request, resulting in a premium reduction. Separately, a mandatory excess of 15% (or 20% if both conditions apply simultaneously) is imposed when the driver is a third party aged under 25 or holding a driving licence for less than 24 months (see driver_age_experience_limit). The mandatory excess can be waived for an additional premium. Mandatory excesses do not apply to: fleet policies, policies where the young/inexperienced driver is declared in the policy, and extensions for Additional Equipment, Luggage, Keys Loss, and Replacement Vehicle.
