Direct payment
Direct loss settlement (BLS – Bezpośrednia Likwidacja Szkody) is available, allowing the insured to claim from their own insurer regardless of which insurer covers the at-fault party. Claims can be reported online via form, or by phone at 22 469 69 69.
Geographic scope
Poland

Green Card extension covers Albania, Azerbaijan, Iran, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine (as optional add-on).
Unique selling points
- Auto Assistance Podstawowy (roadside assistance including towing, repair at scene, and replacement vehicle) is automatically included in the OC package at no extra charge – a differentiator compared with insurers who charge separately for this benefit.
- Discounts of up to 80% for claim-free drivers, with additional reductions for multi-vehicle policies, online purchase, and policyholder age – making Wiener one of the most price-competitive MTPL providers in Poland.
- Available Discount Protection (Ochrona Zniżek) option: preserves the no-claims bonus level in the event of a first claim of any amount during the insurance year – available for AC cover, protecting built-up discounts.
- Direct Claims Settlement (BLS – Bezpośrednia Likwidacja Szkody) available: the insured can report a third-party OC claim directly to their own Wiener insurer, avoiding dealing with the at-fault party's insurer.
- Part of Vienna Insurance Group – one of the largest insurance groups in Central and Eastern Europe – providing financial stability and extensive claims handling infrastructure including a 24/7 alarm centre.

Key conditions
Territorial scope
OC (MTPL) covers events occurring in Poland and, on a reciprocity basis, in territories of states whose national bureaux are signatories to the Multilateral Agreement (EU/EEA and associated states: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy). In those countries, coverage is provided at the level required by the law of the country of the event, or at the Polish statutory minimum – whichever is broader.
Green card rules
The Green Card (Zielona Karta) is an optional extension available as a separate cover within Pakiet AUTO. It extends OC liability coverage to countries where the Green Card certificate is required and which are not parties to the Multilateral Agreement: Albania, Azerbaijan, Iran, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The minimum contract period for the Green Card is 15 days. The policyholder must carry the Green Card certificate and present it to border control authorities. Compensa is not liable for consequences of failing to present the Green Card. Legal representation in civil proceedings established without the insurer's consent is not covered. Criminal defence costs and fines are excluded.
Driver restrictions
OC coverage applies to all persons who drive the vehicle during the insurance period (Art. 35 of the Compulsory Insurance Act). The policyholder must truthfully answer all questions posed by the insurer before the contract is concluded and notify the insurer of any changes during the contract. If a vehicle is transferred to a new owner, the outgoing owner must notify the insurer in writing within 14 days. Coverage continues for the new owner unless the outgoing owner requests cancellation. Subrogation applies: the insurer may recover the paid compensation from the driver if they caused damage intentionally, while intoxicated, without required licence, having obtained the vehicle through a crime, or fled the scene.
Claim notification deadline
In the event of a claim, the insured/policyholder must: immediately notify the insurer of the event, providing necessary explanations and information; take all available measures to mitigate the damage and preserve the insurer's right to recover from the person responsible; present all available evidence relating to the event and damage. The insurer pays compensation or benefits within 30 days of receiving notification of the claim. If clarification of circumstances is impossible within that period, payment is made within 14 days from when clarification became possible; the undisputed portion is paid within the 30-day period.
Bonus-malus rules
The premium is affected by: the number of claims in previous insurance periods, the type and make of vehicle, the age of the vehicle, the number of insured vehicles belonging to one owner, the age of the vehicle owner or user and how long they have held a driving licence, annual mileage, and continuation of the insurance contract with Compensa/Wiener. Discounts of up to 80% are available for claim-free drivers. Additional discounts are granted for: insuring multiple vehicles, age of the vehicle owner, and online purchase. The insurer may individually assess the risk and set a premium different from the tariff schedule.
