Direct payment

The insurer's representative (assistance centre) organises and directly covers the costs of treatment, transport, repatriation, and search-and-rescue operations. Costs incurred independently by the insured without prior agreement with the insurer's representative are not reimbursed, unless contact with the representative was impossible for reasons beyond the insured's control.

Europe and Mediterranean countries (default); worldwide excluding Afghanistan, Algeria, Australia, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Japan, Canada, Libya, Lebanon, Mexico, New Zealand, Sudan, Syria, USA, and Caribbean Islands (extended option)

Coverage is valid outside the borders of the Republic of Poland; events on the territory of the Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine are excluded (per IPID). Foreign nationals are also covered while in Poland.

Emergency dental care

Covered

Emergency dental treatment is covered within the medical expenses sum insured, subject to a per-variant sub-limit (§35 OWU). Covers only acute inflammatory or painful conditions and cases necessitated by an accident. Includes only temporary tooth filling, excluding permanent fillings, root canal treatment, or crown reconstruction. Sub-limits: Basic: 200 PLN; Standard: 500 PLN; Luxury: 1,000 PLN. Preventive dental procedures, crown reconstruction, root treatments, and periodontal treatment are excluded.

Medical transport costs

Covers costs of transport from the accident site to the nearest medical facility, transport to another medical facility outside Poland per physician's recommendation, and transport to a medical facility or place of residence in Poland where continued hospitalisation is required. Covered under Standard and Luxury variants only, up to the medical expenses sum insured for the chosen variant. Transport costs are covered within the transport and repatriation module (§36-37 OWU), which requires that the medical expenses coverage is active.

Medical evacuation

Repatriation of remains

Search and rescue costs

Covers necessary and documented costs of search-and-rescue operations conducted outside Poland by specialised rescue services to save the life or health of the insured who suffered a sudden illness or accident during travel (§38 OWU). Available exclusively in the Luxury variant. Sum insured: 15,000 PLN (§39 OWU). Covers costs not already covered by medical expenses or transport and repatriation insurance.

COVID-19 treatment

COVID-19 treatment costs may be covered if the illness constitutes a 'sudden illness' under the OWU definition (i.e. arises suddenly without causal link to prior illnesses, directly threatens health or life, and requires immediate medical care). However, the official product page explicitly excludes: costs of prophylactic COVID-19 tests not ordered by a physician; costs of quarantine and isolation; transport costs back to Poland if return is prevented by border closures or flight bans; and organisation or costs of transport of insured persons hospitalised or in quarantine/isolation due to COVID-19 until physician-confirmed recovery.

Pre-existing and chronic conditions

Excluded

Pre-existing conditions (illnesses whose first symptoms, diagnosis, or medical confirmation occurred before the start of the insurer's liability) and chronic conditions (long-term illnesses lasting months or years, diagnosed or treated before the trip) are explicitly excluded from coverage (§6.4.20 and §6.4.21 OWU). However, the official product page notes that a person with a diagnosed chronic condition who travels abroad may receive assistance if the need for medical care is the result of a sudden illness, not planned treatment.

Winter sports extension

Optional

Winter sports are excluded from the standard policy. An optional extension covering damages resulting from amateur winter sports (skiing, snowkite, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating) is available for all three variants upon payment of an additional premium (§5.6.2 and §6.5.2 OWU). The extension does not cover high-risk sports (e.g. heliskiing, freeskiing, ski jumping) or competitive/professional sports participation.

Extreme/adventure sports cover

Excluded

Extreme and high-risk sports ("sporty wysokiego ryzyka") are explicitly excluded from all variants of the policy (§6.4.22 OWU). This includes mountaineering, rock and ice climbing, alpinism, canyoning, B.A.S.E. jumping, whitewater kayaking, motor sports, freediving, bungee jumping, paragliding, hang gliding, motocross, combat sports, and many others listed in §4.1.29 OWU. Amateur qualifying sports ("turystyka kwalifikowana") on marked trails are not considered extreme sports.

Pregnancy complications

Conditional

Childbirth occurring before 32 weeks of pregnancy is covered under the medical expenses section, with compensation paid jointly for the mother and child up to the sum insured (§32.2.6 OWU). Childbirth from 32 weeks onwards is excluded (§33.1.4 OWU). Elective termination of pregnancy is excluded unless performed to save the life or health of the insured. Complications of pregnancy and childbirth are not covered as consequences of accidents under the NNW module (§41.1.2 OWU).

Personal liability (third-party)

Optional

Civil liability of the insured for property damage and personal injury caused to third parties in connection with private life activities during travel is an optional extension available for all three variants upon payment of an additional premium (§5.5.2 and §47 OWU). Guarantee sum: Basic 25,000 PLN; Standard 50,000 PLN; Luxury 100,000 PLN. Excluded: damage caused to close relatives, damage arising from business or professional activities, pure financial losses, damage related to use of motor vehicles, and others per §48 OWU.

Legal assistance

Excluded

A dedicated legal assistance product is not included in or available as an extension of the eVoyage travel policy. The Luxury assistance module includes a bail bond loan of up to 5,000 PLN equivalent (§44.4.8 OWU) and translator assistance by phone in emergency situations (§44.4.7 OWU), but these do not constitute legal assistance coverage.

24/7 assistance centre

Covered

All three variants include 24/7 assistance centre duty (§44.2.1, §44.3.1, §44.4.1 OWU). The assistance representative organises and covers costs of medical treatment (all variants), transport and repatriation (Standard and Luxury), and search-and-rescue (Luxury). Additional assistance services in Standard and Luxury include help with document recovery and family notification. Luxury also includes telephone interpreter services and bail bond loan (up to 5,000 PLN equivalent). Assistance costs are covered within the applicable sum insured limits.
