Multicare - Seguros de Saúde, S.A. is Portugal's leading private health insurer, incorporated on 9 March 2007 as the health insurance company of the Fidelidade Group. It served over 1.2 million clients and held a 35% market share in health insurance by the end of 2025, backed by the largest private healthcare provider network in the country. In 2026 it expanded beyond insurance into direct healthcare provision, opening its first own dental clinic in Lisbon.

Regulatory updates
In December 2025, Multicare became the first insurer in Portugal to launch a health insurance product meeting the ASF Standard Conditions (Circular n.º 6/2025 of 3 June 2025), called 'Multicare Proteção Padrão'. Multicare (commercialized under Fidelidade - Companhia de Seguros, S.A.) is registered with the ASF under number 1011. In April 2026 it launched 'Multicare Vital' with unlimited hospitalization and oncology cover. In July 2026, Multicare announced its entry into direct healthcare provision, opening its first own clinic (a dental unit) on Avenida João XXI in Lisbon, open to clients and non-clients alike, with plans to grow to 20-30 clinics in the medium term and a second unit planned on Avenida Álvaro Pais. In August 2026, Multicare added an optional oral-health cover across most of its standard health products for individuals and companies.
