Generali Seguros, S.A. (LOGO brand)
LOGO
LOGO is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Portugal market with online purchase and limited assistance availability.
Direct payment
The Insurer substitutes the Insured in the amicable or litigious settlement of any claim covered by the policy during its validity, dealing directly with third-party claimants or their heirs; LOGO has also adhered to claims-settlement protocols (CRS, IDS Protocol, Portuguese Green Card Bureau) to speed up direct compensation between insurers.
Geographic scope
Portugal
Mandatory liability covers accidents in the territories of all countries whose national insurance bureaux have adhered to the Agreement between national insurance services (EU member states, other EEA states - Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway - plus Switzerland, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Channel Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, San Marino, Vatican and Andorra), and can be extended via Green Card to other countries adhering to the Green Card Agreement. The Light travel-assistance guarantee is valid only in Portugal, while the E-Base/Normal assistance extension, when selected, is valid in Europe and Morocco, Tunisia, Israel and Turkey.
Unique selling points
- 'Auto na Hora' service guarantee: LOGO pays the insured €60 if the tow truck takes more than 60 minutes to arrive, and €120 if it takes more than 120 minutes.
- Fully digital, 100% online quoting, issuance and claims management via the myLOGO app, without paperwork or branch visits.
- Even the entry-level Light tier includes unlimited legal-claim recovery (reclamação jurídica) against a liable third party, at no extra cost.
- Customers can choose the assistance level that suits them (Light, Normal, or the E-Base extension for electric vehicles) instead of a one-size-fits-all package.
- LOGO has adhered to inter-insurer claims protocols (CRS, IDS Protocol, Portuguese Green Card Bureau) to speed up claims settlement for policyholders.
Coverage limits
Bodily Injury Liability
Covered
No limit stated
Mandatory cover for the civil liability of the owner, keeper and driver for bodily injury caused to third parties; the Insurer's liability is always limited to the maximum amount fixed in the Particular Conditions, corresponding at all times at least to the legally mandatory minimum capital, but no specific euro figure is stated in the available policy documents.
Property Damage Liability
Covered
No limit stated
Mandatory cover for the civil liability of the owner, keeper and driver for material damage caused to third parties; limited to the maximum amount fixed in the Particular Conditions, at least equal to the legally mandatory minimum capital, but no specific euro figure is stated in the available policy documents.
Legal Protection
€6,000
Only in LOGO Light
Included in LOGO Light. Covers criminal-law defence of the insured person (up to €6,000) following an accident involving the insured vehicle, and unlimited pursuit of pecuniary legal claims against a liable third party (subject to a €750 minimum-damage threshold below which an action will not be brought). Also advances penal bail: up to €750 for procedural costs and up to €3,000 for provisional release bail, reimbursable within 3 months.
Green Card / International Insurance Certificate
Covered
The mandatory liability contract is proven, for vehicles habitually garaged in Portugal, by the international insurance certificate (Green Card), provisional certificate, payment notice, or civil-liability certificate; for vehicles habitually garaged outside the EEA, a frontier insurance certificate is also required. Where the Insurer only automatically issues provisional certificates, the policyholder can request the Green Card free of charge, issued within 5 business days.
Travel/Roadside Assistance
Conditional
Only in Assistência em Viagem Light e E-Base, Assistência em Viagem Normal e E-Base
Travel assistance is not legally mandatory and, per LOGO's official coverage summary, is not automatically included in LOGO Light (it is offered so the customer can choose whether to add it and at which level). When contracted at the 'Light' level, towing/breakdown service access is unlimited but all associated costs are borne by the insured person; when the 'Normal' level is instead selected for the policy, indemnity limits apply (e.g. €150 for breakdown/towing, €3,000 for medical expenses abroad, 'Take me Home' up to 3 occurrences/50km per year) and includes the 'Auto na Hora' guarantee paying €60 if the tow truck takes over 60 minutes to arrive and €120 if over 120 minutes. An E-Base extension adds EV-specific assistance (battery-flat towing, charging-cable theft cover, etc.).
Driver Personal Accident
Excluded
The 'Proteção de Ocupantes e Condutor' (Occupants and Driver Protection) guarantee is explicitly marked as not included (X) in the LOGO Light coverage table, in both the 2022 and 2026 editions of the Special Conditions.
Passenger Personal Accident
Excluded
The single 'Proteção de Ocupantes e Condutor' guarantee, which would cover both driver and passengers, is marked as not included (X) for LOGO Light in both editions of the Special Conditions reviewed.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Mandatory liability applies throughout the territories of countries whose national insurance bureaux adhere to the Agreement between national insurance services (EU/EEA plus Switzerland, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Channel Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, San Marino, Vatican, Andorra), and to direct routes between two EEA territories lacking a national bureau; it can be extended to further countries via a valid Green Card.
Green card rules
For vehicles habitually garaged outside the EEA a frontier insurance certificate is additionally required. Where premiums are paid in instalments shorter than four months and the Insurer opts for automatic issue of provisional certificates only, the policyholder may request the Green Card, issued free of charge within 5 business days.
Driver restrictions
Claims are excluded/loaded when the vehicle is driven by a person not identified in the contract if this implies a higher risk level under the Insurer's tariff rules, by a person not legally licensed or legally barred from driving, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or narcotics.
Claim notification deadline
The policyholder or insured must notify the Insurer in writing of any covered claim as soon as possible and never later than 8 days from the occurrence or from becoming aware of it, providing all relevant documentary/witness evidence, under penalty of liability for resulting losses.
Bonus-malus rules
A no-claims bonus of 5% per claim-free year (capped at 50%) and a claims-loading malus of 20% per claim in the same annuity (capped at 250%) apply jointly to the Civil Liability (mandatory or optional) and Collision/Impact/Overturning premiums; bonus can be suspended for up to 2 years while a claims provision is open.
