  • Network of over 600 partner service units across Romania with direct settlement (no advance payment by insured), plus optional ERS clause for repair at any certified multibrand facility.
  • Automatic sum insured reinstatement after every partial damage repair at no extra premium, ensuring full coverage is always maintained throughout the policy year.
  • Fixed deductible is fully waived when a third party is exclusively at fault and the CASCO insured is entitled to RCA compensation, and such claims are excluded from the Bonus-Malus calculation.
  • CASCO Perfecto includes a 24/7 dedicated accident helpline with on-site damage assessment within 24 hours of notification on business days, direct settlement with the repair workshop, and periodic SMS/phone claim status updates.

  • Full online purchase, digital self-assessment for glass damage claims (photo and invoice by email without insurer visit required), and instant policy issuance via AI-based vehicle photo evaluation.
  • Five graduated risk packages (Arrêt to Extrême) allow policyholders to pay only for the risks they need, from basic natural perils to full coverage including vandalism — a modular structure unique to Groupama in Romania.
  • Basic roadside assistance (towing, off-road recovery up to EUR 200/500, 3-day storage) is included free in every CASCO Gradual package; Premium upgrade adds replacement vehicle, hotel, and trip continuation services with guaranteed intervention within 1 hour in Romania and 4 hours abroad.
  • The Autocontrol telematics clause — exclusive to Groupama in Romania — gives an immediate 20% discount on the first premium instalment and potential savings of up to 40% based on driving behaviour score, with no penalty if the score does not improve.
  • Groupama is the only insurer in Romania offering a dedicated motorcyclist protective equipment coverage clause (helmet, gear, boots, gloves) for up to EUR 1,500 per event, available as an add-on to CASCO Moto policies.
  • Claims payment is guaranteed within 15 working days of the last document submission, with SMS notification at claim registration and damage assessment available via Video Asist app — avoiding the need to visit a branch.

Key conditions
Driver age experience limit
An additional deductible of RON 2,500 applies if, at the time of the insured event, the vehicle was driven by a person other than the Insured who is aged up to 25 years (inclusive) and was not specified in the insurance policy or a supplement issued prior to the insured event. No minimum driver age or experience limit is explicitly stated in the base policy conditions. However, the policy excludes damage occurring when the vehicle was driven by a person without a valid driving licence for the respective vehicle category, or whose licence was suspended or revoked. An exception is made when the vehicle (adapted with dual controls) was driven by a driving school student assisted by an instructor or examiner. No explicit minimum driver age is stated in the policy conditions (CSC 17/April 2024). However, the product information document indicates the target market includes legal entities or natural persons over 30 years of age as a recommendation, and clients with fewer than 4 claims per insurance year. Vehicles used by persons conducting taxi, transport, school driver, or other commercial activities are excluded from coverage entirely. No explicit minimum driver age or experience requirement is stated in the general terms and conditions for coverage eligibility. The policy covers damages when the vehicle is driven by any person with the consent of the insured, provided that person holds a valid driving licence for the relevant vehicle category. Coverage is denied if the vehicle is driven without a valid licence, after licence revocation/annulment/retention without a replacement permit, or under the influence of alcohol (any measured level) or narcotics/equivalent substances.
Repair network requirements
Repairs must preferably be performed at Allianz-Țiriac partner repair units (list available at www.allianztiriac.ro or via the Claims Center) for direct settlement. Repairs at brand representatives (dealers) for the insured vehicle brand are permitted unless the 'Partner Service Clause' is activated, which excludes the vehicle brand's own dealerships. If repairs are carried out at non-partner units, the insured must submit an estimate before commencing repairs; Allianz-Țiriac will communicate the maximum accepted compensation within 3 business days. Compensation for non-partner repairs is calculated based on partner-network benchmark prices for parts, labor rates, and painting materials.Repair is possible at: (a) Asirom partner multi-brand service unit (direct settlement per collaboration agreement); (b) Asirom partner authorised dealer service (direct settlement); (c) non-partner service (reimbursement at capped rates per Asirom's conventions and specialist evaluation systems); or (d) own repair (reimbursement at rates set by Asirom). An optional Extended Service Network clause (ERS) allows repair at any certified multi-brand facility. The list of partner service units is published at www.asirom.ro. Repairs abroad require prior written consent from Asirom and are generally limited to provisional repairs necessary to continue the journey.Repairs must be performed at authorized repair workshops. In Romania and abroad, the insured may choose any workshop with which Generali has a direct settlement contract (authorized brand representatives or independent multi-brand). For repairs at non-contracted workshops, a prior estimate must be submitted; compensation is capped at the average price level of Generali's contracted workshops. For repairs abroad, the maximum accepted repair cost is the level practiced by the official importer's authorized workshops in Romania. For cars and light vans (≤3.5t authorised mass), partial damage repairs must be carried out in Groupama-agreed repair units (non-dealer contracted units) or authorised specialist units (brand dealers) — this is the default Option B included in all such contracts. Option A (agreed non-dealer units only, at a reduced premium) and Option C (any repair unit, at a supplementary premium) are available as optional clauses. If the insured repairs at any unit outside the agreed/specialist network without purchasing Option C, indemnity is limited to: parts and materials at 70% of the repair unit's invoice price, and labour at RON 50/hour + VAT. Self-repair (regie proprie) requires written insurer approval; in this case compensation is based on the Audatex specialist system at 70% of parts/paint materials and RON 50/hour for labour, without VAT. For all other vehicle categories (>3.5t, motorcycles, etc.), repairs may be carried out in any repair unit.
Territorial scope
Coverage is provided for losses or accidents involving the insured vehicle both in Romania and abroad, in countries where the Green Card system applies. Roadside assistance is valid in Europe (including the European part of Turkey and the Greek part of Cyprus), with the exception of Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and Moldova. The policy is valid on the territory of geographic Europe and Turkey (including the Asian part), with the exception of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belarus. At the insured's written request, the insurer may extend the territorial scope at any time during the policy period via an addendum, against payment of an additional premium and/or application of a deductible set by the insurer. The extended roadside assistance and replacement vehicle clauses are valid exclusively on Romanian territory.Base coverage is valid on Romanian territory. Extension to Green Card system countries (excluding Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Israel, and Iran) is granted without additional premium and without addendum, for the same period and territorial scope as the RCA insurance concluded with Generali. The extension expires when either the RCA or CASCO policy expires (whichever is first). In all other cases, CASCO can be extended abroad only via a policy addendum and payment of additional premium as per Generali's tariffs.Coverage applies on the territory of Romania and 42 European countries: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Switzerland, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of San Marino, Republic of Moldova, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican, Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia. An optional Territorial Extension Clause extends coverage to: Cyprus, Israel, Iran, Morocco, and Tunisia. Roadside assistance is not covered in countries under the territorial extension clause.
Anti theft requirements
For theft coverage: (1) All key sets present at risk inspection (minimum two) must be presented at policy inception. (2) In case of total theft, all key sets observed at risk inspection must be presented when declaring the theft. (3) The vehicle must not be left unlocked or unsecured. (4) Vehicle identification documents (registration certificate, identity card, provisional circulation authorization) must not be left inside the vehicle. (5) In case of key loss or theft, immediate measures must be taken to prevent theft (lock replacement), and Allianz-Țiriac must be notified within 1 business day. Non-compliance may result in refusal of compensation. The insured must not leave the vehicle registration certificate, the vehicle identity card, or any key of the insured vehicle inside the vehicle. In case of theft, the insured must notify the insurer in writing within 2 working days, submit a police report, provide all sets of keys/cards provided by the manufacturer and original vehicle documents (identity card, registration certificate/provisional circulation permit) to the insurer within 2 working days of the event. Theft coverage is suspended immediately upon loss or theft of keys/remote controls, and resumes only after the insured proves replacement of the locking and ignition systems. In case of theft or loss of keys/remote controls/master key, the insured must notify Generali and replace the locking systems within maximum 24 hours of discovery. Failure to comply causes theft coverage to cease automatically upon expiry of the replacement deadline. Leaving the vehicle unlocked, keys in the ignition, registration documents inside the vehicle, or failing to change locks after an attempted break-in constitutes gross negligence and is excluded. In case of total vehicle theft, the full set of keys/remotes including master key plus the vehicle identity card and registration certificate (both originals) must be surrendered to Generali simultaneously with filing the claim; failure causes loss of compensation rights. To insure the vehicle for theft risk, the insured must possess at least 2 complete functional key sets, coded and programmed to the chassis number. If the insured declares only one key set, the vehicle cannot be insured for theft risk. If keys or smart cards/remote start controls are lost or stolen, theft risk coverage automatically suspends from the moment the insured is made aware, until keys are replaced and recoded per manufacturer specifications. After recovery of a stolen vehicle, the insured must replace the ignition contact and all security elements recommended by the manufacturer (e.g., recode keys, replace door lock sets) before the theft risk coverage resumes; a new risk inspection is required. All declared key sets must be submitted to the insurer within 2 working days of noticing vehicle disappearance (for total theft).
Claim notification deadline
Claim notification deadlines: (1) 1 business day from discovering total vehicle theft; (2) 1 business day for loss or theft of vehicle keys or damage to locks following a theft attempt; (3) 3 business days for other insured risks (except bodily injuries and legal protection events); (4) 15 business days from the date of the event for accidents with bodily injuries (Personal Accidents and Legal Protection coverage); (5) 15 business days from receiving notification of a civil/criminal action for Legal Protection coverage, but no later than 15 business days after policy expiry if not renewed. Failure to notify within the deadline may result in refusal of compensation if the cause or extent of the loss cannot be determined. The insured must notify the insurer of the insured event as soon as possible, but no later than 2 working days from the occurrence or from becoming aware of it. For vandalism and theft events, police or other competent authorities must also be notified immediately. The insured must present the vehicle for damage assessment within a maximum of 30 days from the date of claim notification; failure to do so entitles the insurer to refuse compensation. Claims payment is made within maximum 15 working days from submission of complete documentation. The insured must notify Generali of any insured event within 3 (three) days from the date of becoming aware of it. Exception: for theft, notification must be made on the same day as discovery. Damages notified after this deadline are not compensated. Events notified more than 3 days after policy expiry (in case of non-renewal) are also not compensated, except where notification is based on an official document from state authorities (police, fire brigade, etc.) showing the cause, moment, circumstances, and extent of damage. For vehicle damage events: the insured must notify the police, the at-fault party's RCA insurer, fire brigade, or other investigative authorities within 24 hours. Exceptions: amicable accident report, self-damage accident without third parties, or other non-accident damage circumstances (all per applicable law). For these exceptions and for all cases in general, the insured must notify Groupama by calling 0374 110 110 within 2 working days of the insured event occurring or becoming known. For theft or attempted theft: the incident must be reported in writing to the police within 24 hours; the insurer must be notified within 1 working day of noticing the vehicle's disappearance; declared key sets and vehicle documents must be submitted to the insurer within 2 working days. Theft compensation for partial theft is paid only after 30 calendar days from the event; for total theft, only after 60 calendar days. For abroad events: notification within 2 working days by calling 0374 110 110.
Deductible rules
Deductibles (mandatory or optional, deductible per event) are specified in the insurance policy and apply to all CASCO coverages. Deductibles do NOT apply when: (a) an identified third party insured under MTPL is exclusively at fault for the insured event; (b) damage exclusively to glazed elements is remedied by repair rather than replacement. An additional deductible of RON 2,500 applies if at the time of the event the vehicle was used for purposes other than personal (e.g., taxi, security, driving school, car rental) or was driven by a person aged up to 25 (inclusive) not listed in the policy. For repairs at partner units, the insured pays the deductible directly to the repair unit; for non-partner repairs or self-repairs, the deductible is deducted from the compensation paid to the insured. Deductibles are also retained from total loss compensation.A deductible (franșiză) is a fixed amount or a percentage of the insured sum set in the policy, which remains the insured's responsibility and is subtracted from the compensation due for each insured event. The proportional (percentage) deductible established for total losses also applies in subrogation cases. For partial losses caused exclusively by an identified third party's fault where that party holds a valid mandatory third-party liability insurance at the date of the loss, the deductible stated in the policy is not applied. Mandatory deductibles apply to full vehicle theft: 10% of insured sum on Romanian territory; 20% outside Romania. Key loss/theft coverage limit: 5% of the insured sum.The policy offers a choice between a fixed deductible (expressed as a fixed sum) and a percentage deductible (expressed as a percentage of the insured sum or claim value). The higher of the two applies. The fixed deductible is waived when damage is caused exclusively by third-party fault and the Generali CASCO insured is entitled to compensation under the at-fault third party's valid mandatory RCA insurance. The percentage deductible always remains at the insured's expense and cannot be insured elsewhere. A mandatory 30% percentage deductible applies if the vehicle was driven on snow/ice/black ice roads without winter tires (where this constitutes a contravention). A 10% percentage deductible applies if the vehicle had a GPS security system that was not functioning at the time of total theft.Deductibles (franchises) are deductible per event and are set in the insurance contract as either a fixed amount or a percentage of the insured sum. Two types apply: (1) Partial damage deductible: a fixed or percentage amount deducted from the partial loss indemnity. This deductible does NOT apply if the damage was caused exclusively by an identified third party with a valid RCA policy at the date of the event. When the deductible is defined based on the number of events, accidents caused exclusively by an identified RCA-insured third party are NOT counted. (2) Total loss deductible: a percentage of the insured sum, always applied (including in subrogation cases). Exception: total loss deductible does NOT apply if the damage was exclusively to optional supplementary equipment. Pure glass damage (under the optional glass clause) and pure rim/tyre damage (under the optional rims/tyres clause) are subject to a separate per-event deductible as stated in the policy. The insurer may deduct outstanding premium instalments from compensation without requiring explicit insured consent.
Proof and next steps
Direct payment policy
Repairs performed at Allianz-Țiriac partner service units are settled directly between the insurer and the repair unit; the insured only pays the applicable deductible directly to the repair unit. For repairs outside the partner network, compensation is calculated by Allianz-Țiriac and paid directly to the insured.Claims are paid within maximum 15 working days from submission of complete documentation, in RON. Payment is made directly to the insured or to the designated beneficiary (e.g. leasing company). For repairs at partner service units, direct settlement applies. Deductibles (franchises) are subtracted from compensation. Wreck value is also deducted in total loss cases. In the event of a claim, Generali pays compensation directly to the insured in the currency in which the premium was collected, or via direct settlement with the authorized repair workshop chosen by the insured and agreed by Generali. Payment is made within maximum 30 days from completion of the claim file. For total loss or theft, compensation equals insured sum minus salvage value, remaining premiums, and any applicable deductible.Claims payments are made within a maximum of 15 working days from the date the last document requested by the insurer is submitted. For partial losses repaired in Romania, payment is in RON regardless of the insured currency. For total losses, payment is in RON or the policy currency depending on how premiums were paid. Direct settlement to repair shops is available only when the insured uses an agreed repair network or has purchased the optional clause for any repair unit. Self-repair (regie proprie) is paid only to the insured after written agreement with the insurer.
