Direct payment

In case of partial damage, the insurer issues a payment approval to the authorized repair partner and pays repair costs directly to the repair unit upon completion. If the insured chooses a non-partner repair unit, the maximum accepted indemnity is calculated by the insurer using a specialized software at local dealer rates for the vehicle brand.

Geographic scope

Romania and specified European countries

Coverage applies to Romania and the following European countries: Andorra, Austria, Albania, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Switzerland, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Netherlands, San Marino, Republic of Moldova, United Kingdom, Russia (European part), Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Serbia (limited to area under control of the Government of the Republic of Serbia), Turkey (European part), Hungary, Vatican. Water transport coverage maintained only if both embarkation and disembarkation points are within these geographic limits.

Unique selling points

  • Three selectable coverage tiers (Simplu, Complet, Top) allow customers to match protection level to vehicle value and budget, with Simplu priced at approximately 40% of the Top tier premium.
  • The insurer pays repair costs directly to authorized partner repair units, eliminating out-of-pocket expenses for the insured in case of partial damage.
  • Coverage extends across Romania and the entire geographic Europe (44+ countries) under a single policy with no separate territorial endorsement required.
  • Part of the Austrian Grawe Gruppe – an insurer with nearly 200 years of history, operating in Romania since 2000 with a nationwide agency network.
  • Deductibles are waived entirely when the sole at-fault party is an identified third party with valid RCA insurance, protecting the insured from bearing any cost in non-fault claims.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

No specific driver age or minimum experience limit is stated in the policy terms. The driver must hold a valid driving licence for the respective vehicle category (Article 13.1.1). The driver must not be under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or medications with similar effects at the time of the event (Article 13.1.2).

Repair network requirements

After damage assessment, the insured receives a payment approval document for repairs at one of the insurer's authorized partner repair units. The insurer communicates the maximum accepted indemnity to the repair unit within 3 business days from submission of the repair estimate. If the insured chooses a non-partner repair unit, the maximum accepted indemnity is calculated by the insurer using specialized software at local dealer rates. Self-repair reimbursement is at estimated costs (excluding VAT) with a 50% discount applied to labor rates and parts prices from the local brand representative.

Territorial scope

Romania and European countries listed in Article 7: Andorra, Austria, Albania, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Switzerland, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Netherlands, San Marino, Republic of Moldova, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russia (European part), Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Serbia (limited to area under control of the Government of the Republic of Serbia), Turkey (European part), Hungary, Vatican. For water transport, coverage is maintained only if both embarkation and disembarkation points are within the established geographic limits; coverage terminates upon completion of the embarkation procedure if the destination is outside the established limits.

Anti-theft requirements

For theft coverage to be included, the insured must possess at least 2 functional sets of keys for the vehicle, programmed and coded to the chassis number (Article 3). If the insured declares having only one set of keys, the vehicle cannot be insured for the theft risk. In case of theft or loss of keys/cards/remote controls, the insured must notify the insurer within 1 business day and take preventive measures against theft risk at the insurer's expense and with prior insurer approval.

Claim notification deadline

The insured must notify the insurer immediately, but no later than 48 hours from the date on which they became aware of the occurrence of the insured event (Article 15.1.2). In the same 48-hour deadline, the insured must also inform the insurer in writing of any judicial or administrative action related to the insured risk. For theft of keys/cards/remote controls, notification must be made within 1 business day. For total theft, the vehicle identity document, registration certificate, and all keys must be presented to the insurer within 48 hours.

Deductible rules

The deductible (franșiză) represents the portion of the damage borne by the insured/policyholder. It is set as a fixed amount or as a percentage of the insured sum or total indemnity, as specified in the policy (Article 16). The insured may not insure the contractual deductible with any other insurer. Deductibles do not apply when the insured event is caused solely by an identified third party with valid RCA insurance. A specific deductible of 30% of the insured sum applies to total theft risk for Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova (Article 7). Payment of indemnity falls due 14 calendar days after completion of all investigations and submission of required documents.
