Direct payment

Premium for the insurance period (usually 12 months) is due on the first day of the insurance period and cannot be paid in instalments; payment is made by postal money order, bank transfer or cash deposit to the insurer's account according to the insurer's instructions.

Geographic scope

Slovakia

Coverage applies to insured events occurring within the geographic territory of Europe and the European part of Turkey, as agreed in the policy (the IPID states 'all states of Europe and Turkey'). Marketing materials indicate that riders for wildlife collision, natural events and theft may be limited to the territory of the Slovak Republic only, though the base VPP terms do not state this restriction explicitly.

Unique selling points

  • 24/7 (NONSTOP) roadside assistance is included as standard with every policy for M1/N1 vehicles, not sold as a paid add-on.
  • Coverage territory extends across all of Europe and Turkey rather than being limited to Slovakia only.
  • Customers choose between two base packages and can tailor cover further with riders for accident, luggage, glass-deductible reduction, replacement vehicle and GAP.
  • The policy can be arranged fully online in a few minutes, with all documents sent by e-mail immediately afterward.
  • Discounts are available for combining products within the ČSOB Financial Group and for paying the premium annually.

Coverage limits

Own damage (collision, natural events, vandalism, rodents)

Covered

Only in Article 5(1)(a) VPP

Base package covers destruction or damage of the vehicle, its parts and equipment caused by collision/crash (havária), natural events, vandalism, and rodent damage (biting of electric cables, hoses, cladding or insulation). The insured sum equals the new price of the vehicle including VAT in the year of manufacture; individual sales discounts are not reflected when setting this sum.

Source

Total loss / destruction of vehicle

Covered

Only in Article 13.B(2)-(3) VPP

In case of destruction (or economically unfeasible repair) of the vehicle including equipment, the insurer pays the general (current market) value of the vehicle immediately before the event, less the value of sellable/usable remains, up to the insured sum.

Source

Partial damage repair

80% of insured sum

Only in Article 13.B(1)-(2) VPP

Partial damage is repaired at new-part prices/labour rates applicable in the given SR region; if repair costs would exceed 80% of the vehicle's general value at the time of loss, the insurer classifies the repair as economically unfeasible and settles it as a total loss instead.

Source

Theft, robbery and burglary

Optional

Only in Article 5(1)(b) VPP – theft package

The policy can be arranged as one of two packages: the base package (collision, natural events, rodents, vandalism) or a second package that additionally includes cover for theft of the vehicle, its parts and equipment by burglary or robbery. Cover is void if the vehicle was not fitted with, or did not have active/functional, the prescribed anti-theft device at the time of the loss. Marketing materials indicate this rider's territorial scope may be limited to the Slovak Republic only.

Vehicle glass damage

Covered

Only in Article 5(2) VPP, Article 16 VPP – reduced-deductible rider

Base cover already extends to damage or destruction of the vehicle's glazing by any accidental event, excluding toll/vignette stickers and film illegally applied to the glass. A separate optional rider reduces the deductible applicable when glass is replaced (see key_conditions/deductible_rules); it excludes panoramic roofs/sunroofs and items connected to the glass (sun visors, mirrors).

Source

Natural perils (fire, flood, storm, hail, etc.)

Covered

Only in Article 5(1)(a) VPP, Article 21(65) VPP – definition

Included in both packages as standard: fire, explosion, lightning strike, aircraft impact, inundation/flood, windstorm (wind above 75 km/h), hail, landslide, avalanche, falling trees/poles/objects, earthquake, and sonic boom, per the policy's definition of 'natural event'.

Source

Vandalism

Covered

Only in Article 5(1)(a) VPP, Article 21(55) VPP – definition

Included in both packages: intentional damage to, or destruction of, the vehicle or its parts by a third party. Damage caused intentionally by the vehicle's own authorised user is not considered vandalism and is excluded.

Optional

Only in Article 14 VPP

Optional rider covering death caused by accident, permanent injury consequences, and daily indemnity during treatment, for all persons transported in the vehicle (per seating capacity in the registration certificate). The insured sum for each benefit is set individually in the policy contract.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

No explicit driver age or experience eligibility limit is stated in the reviewed policy documents; driver age/experience is used only as a pricing (premium) factor, not as an eligibility criterion.

Repair network requirements

Reasonable repair costs are assessed against new part prices and authorised-repairer labour rates applicable in the relevant SR region; a vehicle that has no authorised service network in Slovakia cannot normally be insured, unless the insurer decides otherwise. Repairs abroad are assessed individually and must be consulted with the insurer in advance.

Territorial scope

Base cover applies across Europe and the European part of Turkey (IPID: 'all states of Europe and Turkey'). Marketing pages state that riders for wildlife collision, natural events and theft may be limited to the territory of the Slovak Republic only.

Anti-theft requirements

The vehicle must be secured with at least the prescribed anti-theft device (per the vehicle-security schedule attached to the policy), which must remain functional and be activated whenever the vehicle is left unattended; theft claims are void if the device was missing, non-functional, or not activated at the time of loss.

Claim notification deadline

Any insured event must be reported to the insurer without unnecessary delay, no later than 15 days, via the website or the claims phone line; accidents/theft/vandalism must also be reported immediately to the police where required, and follow-up facts about the extent of damage must be reported within 15 days of the inspection or start of repair.

Deductible rules

A deductible applies separately for the base coverage and separately for each rider, deducted per individual claim event, except for windshield repair (not replacement) which is settled without any deductible deduction. No deductible is applied if it is clearly established that the insured had no fault and a known at-fault third party with valid MTPL cover exists. For BEV/PHEV vehicles, special deductibles apply (e.g. 700 EUR for battery-only damage, 100 EUR for glass damage), and no deductible applies to flood/hail/windstorm claims above 1,000 EUR.
