Unauthorized treatment
Expenses incurred directly by the insured or beneficiaries without prior insurer authorization are not reimbursable, unless expressly provided for in the policy or in cases of medical emergency. If costs exceed the covered limits, the insured must pay the difference directly.
Purchase while abroad
The policy must be contracted before travel begins to ensure full coverage. The coverage applies to trips with a maximum duration of 90 consecutive days from departure. Trips planned to last more than 90 days are not covered, including the first 90 days of such trips.
Chronic conditions
In the event of a vital emergency derived from a pre-existing or chronic illness, only the costs of first-aid treatment until medical stabilization are covered. Planned or routine treatment of chronic conditions is not covered.
Pregnancy
Medical assistance for newborns (up to 28 days old) not listed in the policy is only covered for births occurring during travel due to unforeseeable pregnancy complications, up to 30% of the insured mother's capital. Planned deliveries abroad are not covered.
pre_existing_conditions
Pre-existing conditions are defined as any illness or injury whose symptoms began before the policy was taken out and that are known to the insured or their family. Coverage is limited to first-aid treatment until stabilization in the event of a vital emergency. No coverage is provided for non-emergency pre-existing conditions.
coverage_duration_limit
