Direct payment
The insurer organizes and covers medically necessary repatriation transport (including ambulance jet) at 100%. For inpatient treatment abroad, costs are covered up to EUR 1,000,000. The insured person must contact the 24-hour emergency number as soon as possible before inpatient, day-clinic, or repeated outpatient treatment, repatriation, transfer of deceased, or burial at the place of event. Failure to notify may result in reduced coverage.

Unexpected acute exacerbation of pre-existing condition

Assistance call deadline
As soon as possible after becoming aware of the insured event, the insured person must contact the insurer's 24-hour emergency number (+43 1 20 444 00) before inpatient, day-clinic, or repeated outpatient treatment, repatriation transport, transfer of deceased, or burial at the place of event, in order to receive the insurer's instructions.
Unauthorized treatment
If the insured person has social insurance and does not assert those claims, a 20% co-payment applies to treatment costs and hospital/transfer transport. Failure to notify the insurer's emergency line before inpatient treatment or transport may result in reduced or denied benefits.
Purchase while abroad
The product is designed to be purchased before travel departure. For trip cancellation cover, insurance must be purchased within 3 days of booking. If purchased later, cancellation cover only applies to events occurring from the 10th day after policy purchase (except accidents, death, or natural disasters).
