Roadside assistance | A free 24/7 roadside assistance is included with the mandatory liability (BA) insurance in case of immobilisation due to an accident (including flat tyre) in all countries listed on the insurance certificate, including towing to a garage of the policyholder's choice. Extended roadside and personal assistance (Top Bijstand) is available as an optional add-on. Within the Top Omnium casco product itself, a replacement vehicle is provided during repairs at an approved repairer. The Top Bijstand optional cover provides broader assistance including a replacement vehicle for up to 15 days in Belgium. | Covered | Covered | Optional |
Replacement vehicle | Covered | Optional | A category A or B replacement vehicle is provided for up to 7 consecutive days following an insured Omnium event (accident, theft, etc.) in Belgium or Luxembourg. In case of theft, the replacement vehicle is provided for up to 20 days. With the Safety Pack Omnium, the maximum is extended to 30 consecutive days for total loss or theft. Outside Belgium/Luxembourg, the insured may rent a vehicle and be reimbursed up to EUR 1,250 excl. VAT for a maximum of 30 days. A daily mobility budget of EUR 35 may be chosen as an alternative to the replacement vehicle. | Optional |

| Key conditions | ||||
Driver age experience limit | No explicit minimum age requirement is stated in the Top Omnium general terms and conditions for coverage to apply. However, lower deductibles (Flexi reduced formula) are available only when the main driver is aged 26 or over and under 75 years, has a bonus-malus between -2 and 8, and has had at most 1 at-fault claim in the last 5 years. Drivers under 23 years old must be declared at policy inception. | No explicit minimum or maximum driver age stated in the verified general conditions for the Vehicle Protection (casco) covers. The RC (liability) cover requires drivers to meet the minimum legal driving age applicable in Belgium. Young drivers under 18 may access certain moped/cyclo categories with specific conditions. The Assistance Vehicle cover applies to the designated vehicle regardless of driver identity, subject to general exclusions (e.g. driver without valid licence, or under disqualification in Belgium). | No minimum age or experience requirement for the named insured/vehicle owner. However, an additional deductible of EUR 250 applies for vehicle damage claims (Dégâts au véhicule) when the driver at the time of loss is under 23 years old and is not listed as the usual driver in the Special Conditions (or when no usual driver is listed). This additional deductible also applies to total-loss settlements. A recourse franchise of EUR 150 applies to the mandatory MTPL cover when the driver is under 23 and not listed as 23 or older. | No explicit minimum driver age for Omnium coverage; the general RC provision requires the driver to hold a valid Belgian driving licence for the vehicle category. Exclusions apply if the vehicle is driven by someone below the minimum legal age, without a valid licence, or under licence suspension. The anti-theft system requirement for the Theft guarantee is waived once the vehicle is 5 years old (Article 24). Policyholders under 25 using the vehicle must be reported to the insurer under certain omnium tiers. The replacement vehicle under the Assistance guarantee may impose age conditions set by the rental company (Article 6, Assistance section). |
Repair network requirements | Repairs may be carried out at any garage of the insured's choice. However, if the repair takes place outside the AG approved repairer network, the applicable deductible is increased by EUR 250. Choosing an AG approved repairer entitles the insured to: direct payment by the insurer, a replacement vehicle for the full duration of repairs, and a 3-year warranty on repairs (network benefit noted in marketing materials). The approved network comprises over 2,500 repairers in Belgium. | Repairs at an AXA approved partner garage (garage conventionné / geconventioneerde garage) unlock full benefits: (1) Assistance Réparation / Herstellingshulp: AXA pays the repair invoice directly to the garage (tiers payant), deducting any deductible and recoverable VAT; (2) Replacement vehicle provided for the full duration of repairs up to 30 days (instead of only 3 working days outside the network); (3) The English-type deductible (franchise anglaise / Engelse vrijstelling) is waived entirely when repair cost exceeds the threshold specified in the special conditions; (4) Repairs are carried out under an AXA quality guarantee. If the vehicle is repaired outside the approved network, the replacement vehicle is limited to 3 working days and the deductible always applies. | Baloise operates a Premium Plus and Service Plus network of approved repairers. Use of an approved network repairer gives benefits including: direct payment by Baloise to the repairer, a free replacement vehicle during the repair period, faster claims settlement, a 3-year guarantee on repairs/paint/parts (Premium Plus) or 2-year guarantee (Service Plus), pick-up and delivery within 30 km (Premium Plus), and a free safety check (Premium Plus). Use of a non-network repairer is permitted but the insured must pay the applicable deductible directly. List of approved repairers available at www.trouvezunreparateur.be. | Policyholders may use any repairer; however, using Belfius Insurance approved repairers provides additional benefits including: rapid damage assessment, quality repairs, a replacement vehicle for the duration of repairs (and 6 days in total loss), a free technical inspection after the accident if required, and a reduced deductible. The list of approved repairers is available at Belfius.be. For glass damage, direct payment applies with Touring Glass, Autoglass Clinic SA and Carglass SA (Article 29, Bris de Vitres). If the policyholder does not use an approved repairer, the insurer appoints an expert to assess damage, and indemnity is paid based on the expert report. |
Territorial scope | Coverage is granted in all countries validated on the international insurance certificate (green card) of the insured vehicle. For theft occurring in a non-Schengen country where the vehicle is not recovered, a police report must also be filed with the Belgian authorities within 24 hours of the driver's return to Belgium. | Vehicle Protection (casco) covers apply in: EU member states, Andorra, Monaco, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Morocco, Montenegro, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, and the parts of Serbia and Cyprus under their respective government control. Replacement vehicle cover is limited to Belgium and within 30 km of Belgian borders. The Première Assistance / Eerste Hulp applies in Belgium and within 30 km of Belgian borders (with separate provisions for abroad). | The Omnium Safe 1 is valid in all countries listed in the Motor Vehicle General Conditions (same country list as MTPL: all European green card countries, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey). Baloise Assistance for Omnium events covers Belgium, Luxembourg, and up to 30 km beyond Belgian borders. For events abroad with the RC (MTPL) cover, assistance covers all listed countries. The vehicle must remain registered in Belgium for the policy to remain applicable. | Omnium (vehicle damage) guarantee is valid worldwide (Article 4, Assurance du Véhicule). Assistance after accident (base RC guarantee) covers Belgium and within 30 km beyond Belgian borders. Optional Assistance guarantee covers Belgium (incl. 30 km beyond borders) and all countries listed on the insurance certificate and not expressly excluded, subject to exclusions for countries under general travel bans, countries in civil/foreign war, and specific high-risk countries listed in the policy (Iran, Belarus, Crimea, Russian Federation, Russian-annexed Ukrainian regions). RC, Legal Protection and Driver coverages apply in all countries listed on the international insurance card. |
Anti theft requirements | Theft is only covered under the Multirisk guarantee if the anti-theft system imposed by the insurer was activated and in perfect working order at the time of the theft. Theft is also excluded if: doors or boot were unlocked; roof or window was not closed; ignition key was left in or on the vehicle; the disabling mechanism of the anti-theft system was left in the vehicle. Exception: if the vehicle was in an individually locked garage and the garage was broken into. | An anti-theft system approved by AXA is required for the theft cover to apply. If the required anti-theft system is absent or was not correctly activated at the time of the theft or attempted theft, the theft cover does not apply (unless the vehicle was in a locked individual garage that was broken into). Costs for replacing or recoding the anti-theft system after key theft are also covered. A list of approved anti-theft systems and conditions is available from the intermediary. | For theft coverage, the designated vehicle must be equipped with the anti-theft or post-theft system specified in the Special Conditions. The system must be activated and functioning correctly at all times and must be properly maintained. When leaving the vehicle unattended, doors and boot must be locked, roof and windows closed, and all keys/keyless systems/remote controls taken away. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may result in claim denial for theft. In case of theft or attempted theft, a police report must be filed within 24 hours of discovery. | The theft guarantee may require, as stipulated in the particular conditions, that the insured vehicle be equipped with an INCERT-certified 'TT' (Track & Trace) post-theft system or a manufacturer-recognised post-theft system enabling constant vehicle location via a remote monitoring station and preventing engine restart after theft. The policyholder must ensure the system functions properly and carry out all necessary repairs immediately and at their own expense. This anti-theft requirement is no longer mandatory once the vehicle is 5 years old. The theft guarantee does not apply when the vehicle is unoccupied with doors/boot unlocked, windows/roof open, keys left in or on the vehicle, or the required anti-theft system not installed or activated (except when in a locked private garage). |
Claim notification deadline | Theft must be reported to the competent judicial or police authority within 24 hours of discovery, and to the insurer within the same deadline. For theft in a non-Schengen country where the vehicle is not recovered, Belgian authorities must also be notified within 24 hours of return. For key/remote theft, a police report must be filed within 24 hours. In urgent situations, the beneficiary may have essential repairs carried out up to EUR 1,500 without prior insurer authorisation. If the insurer does not react within 8 working days of receiving the damage estimate, the insured may proceed with repairs. | In case of theft, attempted theft, vandalism or key theft: claim must be notified within 24 hours. In all other covered events (accident, fire, natural perils, glass breakage): claim must be notified within 8 days. The insured must also file a police report immediately in case of theft, attempted theft, vandalism or key theft (and upon return to Belgium if the theft occurred abroad). For the replacement vehicle following an accident, the claim must reach AXA within a maximum of 3 working days from the date of the claim to optimise the replacement vehicle period. | The insured must notify Baloise of any claim as quickly as possible and in any case within 8 days of the event. For theft or attempted theft, a police report must be filed within 24 hours of discovery and the relevant document provided to Baloise. Court documents (citations, etc.) must be forwarded within 48 hours of receipt. Repairs may only commence after the expert has assessed the damage, except for urgent or provisional repairs (limited to EUR 1,250 excl. VAT if covered). | Any claim must be declared in writing immediately and at the latest within 8 days of its occurrence (Article 32 RC; Article 7 Omnium; Article 6 Conducteur; Article 4 Protection Juridique). For the Assistance, the claim must be reported immediately to the assistance centre (24/7). In case of theft or attempted theft, vandalism, or malice, a police report must be filed immediately after discovery. The 8-day deadline does not apply if the insurer cannot invoke it when the declaration was made as quickly as could reasonably be expected. Claims can be submitted online via Belfius.be, the Belfius Mobile app, Belfius Direct Net, or by phone at +32 (0)2 286 70 00 (Mon–Fri, 8h–17h). |
Deductible rules | For Material Damage (Stoffelijke Schade), two deductible options apply: (1) Fixed Deductible (Vaste Vrijstelling): the policyholder chooses from multiple levels. Basic deductibles are EUR 200 (vehicles ≤ EUR 20,000 excl. VAT), EUR 400 (EUR 20,001–30,000), EUR 700 (> EUR 30,000). A higher option also exists. (2) Flexi Deductible (Flexi Vrijstelling): available to good drivers (bonus-malus -2 to 0). If a known third party (pedestrian or vehicle) is involved and the incident is confirmed in writing, or in case of hit-and-run or vandalism with police complaint within 24 hours, the deductible is EUR 0. Without a known third party the deductible equals the basic fixed deductible amount. If repair is done outside the AG approved network, the deductible is increased by EUR 250. No deductible applies in Multirisk (glass, theft, natural perils, fire, animal collision). | Two optional deductible (franchise) formulas are available for the Vehicle Protection cover, specified in the special conditions: (1) Fixed deductible (franchise fixe): always borne by the insured and deducted from the indemnity for the Material Damage (Accident) and/or Theft covers; (2) English-type deductible (franchise anglaise): for the Material Damage (Accident) cover, the deductible is waived entirely when both conditions are met: (a) repair cost (excl. VAT) exceeds the threshold in the special conditions, AND (b) the insured uses an AXA approved partner garage. The English-type deductible is also always waived in case of total loss. The English-type deductible formula is exclusively reserved for cars, minibuses and motorhomes. For fire-extinguishing costs (frais d'extinction), no deductible applies. | Deductible options for vehicle damage (Dégâts au véhicule - Grande Omnium): fixed amounts of EUR 250, EUR 500, EUR 750, or EUR 1,000 per claim; or English-style deductible of EUR 750 (insured pays first EUR 750, insurer pays the remainder without deductible application above that threshold). No deductible applies for: fire, theft, glass damage (standard vehicles), natural perils, animal collision, vandalism, or total loss (unless driver under 23). Additional EUR 250 deductible when driver under 23 and not the listed usual driver. Policyholders with multiple Baloise contracts may be eligible for a zero deductible on certain coverages. | For the Garantie Dégâts Matériels (Full Omnium – material damage), a deductible is contractually fixed in the particular conditions. The standard deductible is EUR 500. An option exists to reduce it to EUR 250 by paying a higher premium. An 'English deductible' (franchise anglaise) option is also available: if repair costs exceed the deductible amount, the insurer covers the full amount with no deductible deducted. The deductible applies whether the vehicle is repairable or declared a total loss (Article 38). No deductible applies to the Garantie Dégâts Matériels si Perte Totale (total-loss-only sub-guarantee, Article 34), the Garantie Vol (theft), the Garantie Incendie (fire), the Garantie Forces de la Nature (natural perils), or the Garantie Bris de Vitres (glass). A reduced deductible is available when repairs are carried out at approved Belfius repairers (per claims form). Ancillary costs (towing, signalling, provisional storage, technical inspection post-repair, etc.) are covered up to EUR 2,000 excl. VAT (Article 14). |
| Proof and next steps | ||||
Direct payment policy | When the insured chooses a repair from the AG approved repairer network, the insurer pays the repairer directly; no out-of-pocket payment required from the insured for repair costs. | AXA pays repair costs directly to the approved partner garage (tiers payant / derdebetalersysteem) under the Assistance Réparation service for cars and vans involved in a covered accident, deducting any applicable deductible and recoverable VAT. For claims outside the approved network, AXA reimburses the insured after repair. | Baloise pays the repair costs directly to the approved repairer when the insured uses a Premium Plus or Service Plus network repairer. The insured only pays the applicable deductible and any non-recoverable VAT directly to the repairer. | For glass damage (windshield, side windows, rear window), Belfius settles the invoice directly with approved partners Touring Glass, Autoglass Clinic and Carglass at no deductible. For repairs at an approved Belfius repairer under Omnium, the insurer pays the repairer directly; the policyholder only pays the applicable deductible and any non-recoverable VAT. |
