KBC Insurance NV is licensed by the National Bank of Belgium for all classes of insurance under code 0014 (Royal Decree of 4 July 1979). As of 1 May 2025, the NBB's sectoral systemic risk buffer rate stood at 6%. KBC Group has been designated a Significant Institution under European Banking Supervision and is directly supervised by the ECB. In 2025, Belgian insurers and banks are navigating compliance with DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), Basel IV/CRR3, and new AML regulations. KBC's 2024 capital ratio of 15% was well above the ECB/NBB minimum requirement of 10.81%. KBC Bank is also authorised under the EU MiCA regulation as a crypto-asset services provider in Belgium.
