Coverage limits
Own Damage / Traffic Accident Coverage
Covered
Only in PUNO kasko
Under PUNO (full) casco, damage from traffic accidents and external impacts to the vehicle in motion or at rest is covered (Article B.4(1) items 1.1 and 1.4). Compensation is based on the vehicle's purchase/replacement value, less any agreed deductible.
Total Loss
Covered
A total loss exists when the vehicle is destroyed, disappears (theft not recovered within 30 days), or estimated repair costs equal/exceed 75% of market value (Article E.2). EUROHERC pays the replacement value of an equivalent vehicle minus deductible and salvage value. If additionally agreed (with 8% premium surcharge), a total loss within 12 months of first registration is compensated at 100% of the original purchase price (new-value compensation), for M1/N1 vehicles excluding increased-risk vehicles.
Partial Loss / Repair Costs
Covered
Where repair is technically feasible and economically justified, EUROHERC covers repair costs, reduced by the market value of replaced parts; dismantling, assembly and transport of parts are included. No amortization deduction applies except for new tyres, batteries or tarpaulins (Article E.3).
Theft and Robbery
Covered
Both PUNO and DJELOMIČNO casco cover theft, aggravated theft, robbery and unauthorized use of the vehicle (Article B.4(1).1.2 and B.4(3).3.8). The vehicle is deemed stolen if it is not found within 30 days of reporting to the police. Optional add-on: theft of technical/electronic devices in M1-category vehicles via forced entry, up to 10,000 HRK per claim.
Glass Breakage
Covered
Only in DJELOMIČNO kasko
Under DJELOMIČNO (partial) casco, breakage of windscreen, side or rear glass and sunroof glass is covered regardless of cause (Article B.4(3).3.4), as is breakage of lights and mirrors (3.5). Under PUNO (full) casco, glass breakage is only compensated as a consequence of a named covered peril (e.g. impact, traffic accident), since risks not listed on the policy are deemed uninsured (Article B.4(4)).
Natural Perils
Covered
PUNO casco covers direct lightning strike, rockfall, landslide, avalanche, snow pressure, hail, and storm (wind over 62 km/h), plus torrents, water outflow, floods and high/underground water (Article B.4(1).1.6-1.7). DJELOMIČNO casco covers only lightning and hail (Article B.4(3).3.9).
Vandalism
Covered
Malicious damage or destruction of the insured vehicle by a third party is covered under both PUNO (Article B.4(1).1.3) and DJELOMIČNO (Article B.4(3).3.3) casco.
Towing and Recovery Costs
HRK 7,500
EUROHERC covers towing/recovery of the damaged vehicle to the nearest workshop for temporary or final repair, up to 7,500 HRK for passenger cars and motorcycles, and up to 15,000 HRK for other vehicles (Article E.5(1).1.1). This limit can be upgraded to unlimited coverage of these costs for an additional 10% premium surcharge (Article J.6(1).1.4).
Replacement Vehicle
Excluded
The cost of a replacement/rental vehicle is explicitly excluded from coverage under this casco insurance (Article G.3(1).1.6).
Driver Accident Coverage
No limit stated
No provision for driver/passenger personal accident cover was found within these motor casco terms; such cover is typically offered under a separate accident insurance product.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
The terms do not set a specific driver age or experience limit for casco coverage; premium surcharges instead apply based on vehicle usage risk category (e.g. rent-a-car, taxi, courier), not driver age.
Repair network requirements
Claims settlement is based on natural restitution (repair), and EUROHERC has the right to determine the repair location or organize and carry out the repair itself; if the insured disagrees, EUROHERC may instead pay a cash settlement (Article E.1).
Territorial scope
Coverage extends across Europe, i.e. Green Card System countries or EEA member states; it can be additionally extended to Morocco, Moldova, Tunisia, Israel, Azerbaijan and Iran for an extra premium (Article C.3).
Anti-theft requirements
The insured/user must lock the vehicle, close windows and latches (raise the roof on convertibles), activate anti-theft devices, remove unattached/visible items and registration documents when leaving the vehicle, and keep keys and registration documents where they are not easily accessible to third parties; mechanical/electronic keys and remote controls must not be left in the vehicle (Article H.1(2).8-2.9).
Claim notification deadline
The insured must report the insured event to EUROHERC within one week from the occurrence or from becoming aware of it, with as precise a description of the facts as possible (Article H.2(1).1.3).
Deductible rules
A contracted deductible (franšiza) is agreed in a nominal monetary amount, which may not be less than 1,200 HRK unless otherwise agreed (Article I.1(1)). Regardless of the contracted deductible, a mandatory escalating deductible applies for repeat claims within one insurance year: 15% of the claim (min 1,000/max 5,000 HRK) for the 2nd claim, 30% (min 3,000/max 10,000 HRK) for the 3rd, and 50% (min 5,000/max 20,000 HRK) for the 4th and subsequent claims; the mandatory deductible is applied first, then the contracted deductible on the remainder (Article I.1(2)-(3)). Note: the insurer's product page separately advertises deductible options expressed as 1-5% of the new vehicle price, which differs from the nominal-amount mechanism set out in the T&Cs.
