Unique selling points

  • UNIQA Autopass gives free repair of the vehicle if a fault is found at the mandatory technical inspection.
  • Roadside assistance (UNIQA S.O.S.) is available from just 13 EUR/year via a free 24/7/365 hotline (0800 5858).
  • The optional AO plus add-on protects the at-fault driver with up to 19,908.42 EUR for bodily injury, a cover many competitors do not offer on their base MTPL product.
  • The optional accident add-on can be extended to cover medical costs or death of a pet injured in the same accident.
  • The optional 'Zaštita UNIQA bonusa' add-on preserves the policyholder's accrued no-claims bonus even after a first claim upon renewal.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

Coverage applies in the Republic of Croatia and in Green Card System member states, unless otherwise agreed.

Green card rules

If the Green Card member state where the accident occurred prescribes a higher minimum sum insured than in Croatia, the insurer must extend cover up to that higher amount.

Driver restrictions

The policyholder loses the right to indemnity if the driver did not hold a valid driving licence of the appropriate category, except for candidate drivers operating the vehicle under instruction from a certified instructor in compliance with applicable rules.

Claim notification deadline

The policyholder must notify the insurer without delay if a claim, lawsuit or other demand related to motor liability has been filed against them, and must leave claim handling to the insurer.

Bonus-malus rules

Premium is adjusted based on claims history: a claim-free record earns a bonus discount, while claims result in a malus surcharge. Applies to individual (physical person) policyholders in premium groups 1 (personal vehicles) and 6 (motorcycles). Bonus rights do not transfer to a new vehicle owner; an optional 'Zaštita UNIQA bonusa' add-on can protect an accrued bonus after a first claim.
