COVID-19 / Pandemic Treatment
Excluded
Any costs resulting from an Epidemic or Pandemic disease are excluded from Medical Expenses cover and from all cover under the Policy's General Exceptions.
Pre-existing Conditions

Services required for treating pre-existing illnesses are specifically excluded from Medical Expenses Abroad cover, and any Permanent Disablement payment is reduced by the rate of a pre-existing disablement.

Excluded
Skiing, cross-country skiing (langlaufen) and snowboarding are listed among the 'Dangerous Sports' which are not covered under any circumstances by the Policy.
Adventure / Extreme Sports Cover

€1,500
Judicial and extrajudicial defence costs related to the Personal Liability cover are paid up to €1,500. Separately, an advance deposit of up to €4,500 for legal costs/expenses is available, refundable by the Insured within 3 months.
24/7 Travel Assistance
Covered
Travel Assistance cover and the Mapfre Asistencia call centre are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year worldwide, provided the Insured is on a Trip outside the Republic of Cyprus for a consecutive period not exceeding 60 days (Albania excluded).
Key conditions
Assistance call deadline
The Insured must immediately contact the Assistance Call Centre (+30 210 6504085), giving full name and Policy number; this is an essential condition precedent to any liability of the Company under the Travel Assistance cover.
Unauthorized treatment
The Insured must obtain the Company's prior consent before taking any measures that create expenses; unjustified negligence to minimise costs entitles the Company to reduce its services proportionally, and if done to deceive the Company it is released from all obligations.
Purchase while abroad
The policy documents reviewed do not specify whether the policy can be purchased after the Insured has already departed on the Trip; cover is designed to begin at embarkation from Cyprus.
Chronic conditions
Illness is defined as a sudden and unforeseen deterioration of health 'not related to a chronic disease' that occurs for the first time during the Trip; consequences of chronic conditions therefore fall outside the definition of a covered Illness.
Pregnancy
Birth labour or pregnancy complications are explicitly excluded from cover for Death, Disablement and Medical Expenses under the General Exceptions.
Pre-existing condition exclusions
Services required for treating pre-existing illnesses are specifically excluded from the Medical Expenses Abroad cover, and Permanent Disablement payments are reduced by any pre-existing disablement rate.
Coverage duration limit
Cover applies only while the Insured is on a Trip outside Cyprus for a consecutive period not exceeding 60 days; the Policy does not cover expenses arising after the Trip dates expire or after 60 days from the start of the Trip.
