Pojišťovna VZP, a.s. (PVZP) is a universal non-life insurer and a subsidiary of Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna České republiky (VZP ČR). It became an independent company in 2004 after previously operating as part of VZP ČR since 1994, and today it is described as the largest retail seller of travel insurance and market leader in health insurance for foreigners in the Czech Republic.

Regulatory updates
In May 2026, PVZP underwent a major leadership shake-up: chairman of the board Robert Kareš and board member René Kurka were dismissed by decision of VZP ČR's new CEO Ivan Duškov, who cited results of an ongoing administrative proceeding against PVZP conducted by the Czech National Bank (ČNB) and alarming findings from internal supervisory board audits. VZP ČR simultaneously announced an independent forensic audit of PVZP, with Martin Daneš appointed as the new chairman of the board. At the end of 2017, PVZP had also received an extension of its ČNB license to cover mandatory third-party motor liability insurance (MTPL).
