Coverage limits
Medical expenses abroad
Covered
Covers necessary medical and dental treatment abroad, including hospitalization, surgery, medication and medical transport. Emergency medical/dental treatment
Covered
Covers necessary emergency treatment for sudden illness or injury abroad, including sudden severe dental pain, infection, a lost filling or a broken tooth, up to the medical-expenses limit stated in the Rozsah pojištění.
Hospitalization
Covered
If hospitalization is required, the insurer provides a guarantee of payment directly to the medical facility up to the medical-expenses limit stated in the Rozsah pojištění.
Outpatient treatment
Covered
Necessary outpatient care abroad is covered; the insured may pay directly and later claim reimbursement, within the medical-expenses limit stated in the Rozsah pojištění.
Emergency dental treatment
Covered
No limit stated
Emergency dental treatment for acute pain, infection, a lost filling or a broken tooth is covered under a separate sub-limit within the medical-expenses cover; the exact sub-limit amount is set in the Rozsah pojištění annex and is not disclosed in the available sources.
Emergency medical transport
Covered
Covers transport from the place where the medical issue arose to the nearest suitable medical facility, and, if the local facility cannot provide adequate care, transfer to a more suitable facility, up to the limit stated for Pojištění urgentní přepravy in the Rozsah pojištění.
Medical repatriation
Covered
If the insured's condition is stable enough for transport, the insurer arranges and pays for return transport home (or to a facility near the place of residence), plus a medical escort if required, up to the limit for Pojištění urgentní přepravy in the Rozsah pojištění.
Repatriation of mortal remains
Covered
In case of death abroad, the insurer arranges and pays for transport of the mortal remains to a funeral home near the insured's residence, or reimburses local burial/cremation costs up to the equivalent amount, plus travel/accommodation for one family member to arrange formalities.
Search and rescue
Covered
Covers the cost of professional search and rescue operations if the insured is reported missing or needs physical rescue in a life-threatening situation; an additional, separate search-and-rescue limit also applies under the optional risky-sports rider.
COVID-19 treatment
Covered
Diagnosis of an epidemic or pandemic illness, explicitly including COVID-19, is covered under medical expenses and emergency transport/repatriation on the same basis as other acute illnesses.
Pre-existing health conditions
Excluded
Costs related to a health condition present, treated or diagnosed within 4 months before the policy's effective date or before the travel service was purchased (whichever is later) are excluded under the general exclusions.
Winter sports cover
Covered
Basic summer and winter sports commonly practised on holiday are included in every type of this insurance (with an exception for a different product, Extra Léto CK, where basic winter sports are excluded).
Adventure/risky sports cover
Optional
Participation in risky sports and activities is excluded unless the optional 'připojištění rizikových sportů a aktivit' rider is arranged; this rider also enables cover for related sports equipment.
Pregnancy complications
Conditional
Costs related to a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery, infertility treatment and elective termination of pregnancy are excluded. If the insured unexpectedly gives birth abroad before the 37th week of pregnancy, the newborn is entitled to necessary medical care sharing the mother's medical-expenses limit.
Personal liability
CZK 20,000,000
Covers damages the insured is legally liable to pay for bodily injury, death or property damage caused to a third party during the trip, plus related legal defence costs. Liability cover can be arranged up to 20 million CZK, with the exact limit depending on the selected package; it also extends to damage caused by the insured's dog or cat.
Legal expenses abroad
Covered
No limit stated
Covers legal costs arising from unintentional breach of local law or from taking legal action against a third party during the trip, up to the limit stated in the Rozsah pojištění (legal costs are not paid directly to a travel service provider).
24/7 assistance service
Covered
A multilingual assistance service is available 24 hours a day to help find doctors, replace lost documents, provide emergency interpretation, recommend legal help, and offer the Doktor Chat telemedicine service.
Key conditions
Assistance call deadline
The 24/7 assistance service must be contacted without delay in specific situations: before/upon hospitalization exceeding 24 hours, before surgery abroad, before specialized diagnostic tests (e.g. MRI, CT), before transfer to another facility, and in case of a travel companion's death.
Unauthorized treatment
Transport, hospitalization guarantees and other assistance services arranged without the insurer's prior approval are reimbursed only up to the amount the insurer would have paid had it arranged the service itself; costs incurred without any prior contact with the assistance service may not be reimbursed at all.
Purchase while abroad
If the policy is arranged while the insured is already abroad, cover only applies to events occurring from the 3rd day after the policy was concluded (deferred effect), unless it directly follows a prior Allianz travel policy paid before the previous policy's expiry.
Chronic conditions
A chronic health condition is covered only if it has been stable for at least 4 months before the policy's effective date or before the travel service was purchased (whichever is later); this stabilization period was shortened from 12 to 4 months. Otherwise only first aid for an immediately life-threatening condition is covered.
Pregnancy
Costs related to a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery, infertility treatment and elective termination of pregnancy are excluded; however, unexpected delivery abroad before the 37th week of pregnancy entitles the newborn to necessary medical care sharing the mother's medical-expenses limit.
Pre-existing condition exclusions
A health condition, illness or injury present, treated or diagnosed within 4 months before the policy became effective or before the trip/service was purchased (whichever is later) is considered pre-existing and is excluded under the general exclusions unless a specific benefit states otherwise.
Coverage duration limit
Maximum trip duration is 90 days for short-term policies, 365/366 days for annual policies, and 60 days per trip abroad for repeated-trip (Multitrip) policies.
