Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

In the event of a claim, the insured must contact the 24/7 assistance service without unreasonable delay (before treatment where possible), notably before any detailed imaging examination or surgical procedure, which must be pre-approved by the insurer or assistance service.

Unauthorized treatment

If the insured fails to follow the insurer's/assistance service's instructions, obtain required pre-approval, or provide requested documents, the insurer is entitled to proportionally reduce or deny the claim payment.

Purchase while abroad

The policy may only be arranged before the insured departs from the Czech Republic; a policy concluded after crossing the state border is considered invalid.

Chronic conditions

Chronic diseases are excluded from the base cover unless the optional chronic-illness add-on is purchased (available for Komfort/Excelent only); stabilized chronic conditions (no treatment/medication change or hospitalization in the last 12 months) remain covered under the base PLV limit.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy complications before week 26 are covered as an ordinary acute condition; pregnancy-detection tests, interruption, risk-pregnancy complications, complications after week 26 and childbirth are excluded.

Pre-existing condition exclusions

Illnesses or injuries existing/diagnosed in the 12 months before the policy start are excluded unless the chronic-illness add-on is purchased; this exclusion does not apply to stabilized chronic conditions.

Coverage duration limit

Single-trip cover: 1–365 days. Long-term (repeated-trips) cover: unlimited number of trips per policy year, each trip covered for up to 90 consecutive days; if 90 days are exceeded, cover lapses until the insured re-enters the Czech Republic and departs again. A new single-trip policy longer than 180 days may only be taken out at least 30 days after the previous policy period ends.
