Any accident or acute illness requiring medical treatment must be reported to the assistance company as soon as objectively possible, and no later than 3 days after it occurs.

Unauthorized treatment

Purchase while abroad

If the insurance is arranged after the insured has already departed abroad and does not directly follow a previous Kooperativa travel policy, a 7-day waiting period applies from the date the policy is concluded, during which no insured events are covered.

Chronic conditions

Costs related to illnesses or injuries that existed, or whose symptoms had already appeared, before departure are not covered, except for medical care needed for the acute worsening of a stabilized chronic illness that directly endangers life or health.

Pregnancy

Costs related to pregnancy, artificial termination of pregnancy, miscarriage or childbirth are excluded, except for medical treatment of unexpected acute pregnancy complications occurring up to 10 weeks before the expected delivery date, provided it was needed to avert immediate danger to the life of the mother or child; complications arising from a risk pregnancy are not covered.

Pre-existing condition exclusions

Medical costs for illnesses known to the insured before the start of the insurance, or for injuries/illnesses whose symptoms appeared before departure, are excluded from cover.

KOLUMBUS single-trip insurance can be arranged for a maximum of one year (365/366 days). KOLUMBUS ABONENT and KOLUMBUS ABONENT RODINA are arranged for repeated trips abroad, with each individual trip covered for a maximum of 45 consecutive calendar days; the number of trips during the insurance period is unlimited.
