Unique selling points

  • As a member-owned insurer under LB Forsikring, Bauta returns its annual profit surplus to policyholders through lower prices, bonuses, and better terms.
  • Bauta's car insurance is tailored specifically to members of the health and education sectors, with product design reflecting the needs of these professional groups.
  • A 24-hour Falck emergency roadside hotline is available for policyholders who have added the Vejhjælp cover.
  • Policyholders who repair a comprehensive (kasko) claim at a preferred workshop can get a free courtesy car including 100 km per day, extending to a free 30-day rental car if the car is stolen or written off.
  • Bauta is recognised for having some of the most loyal customers in the Danish market, reflected in strong EPSI customer satisfaction rankings.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

The mandatory liability insurance applies in Europe and non-European countries participating in the green card scheme. Roadside assistance (Vejhjælp) covers Europe up to the Urals, excluding Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland; Vejhjælp PLUS covers Denmark only; rescue abroad (red card) follows kasko/delkasko cover.

Green card rules

The green card requirement under the EU Motor Insurance Directive is automatically fulfilled by the mandatory liability insurance; if kasko or delkasko is also purchased, the car is additionally covered by the red-card rescue scheme abroad, coordinated with SOS International.

Driver restrictions

Anyone lawfully permitted to use the car is covered. The deductible is increased by DKK 3,000 if the car was lent to a driver under 25 at the time of the claim, and by an additional DKK 3,000 for 17-year-old drivers where legally permitted.

Claim notification deadline

Any damage must be reported to the insurer as soon as possible; theft, robbery and vandalism must also be reported to the police. Late or incomplete notification can affect the right to compensation.

Bonus-malus rules

The sources do not describe a traditional bonus-malus system; instead the insurer states that the premium itself does not rise because of a claim, though it may raise the deductible, cancel optional covers, or require loss-prevention measures after a claim.
