Key conditions

Territorial scope

The policy covers Denmark and all countries that are party to the Green Card scheme (both EU and non-EU countries).

Green card rules

In Green Card countries, liability is covered with the sums applicable in the respective country, but always at least with the sums that apply in Denmark.

Driver restrictions

Cover applies to the policyholder and anyone using the car with the policyholder's permission; a valid driving licence is required, and driver-seat/roadside benefits can be reduced or voided for unauthorised use, driving under the influence, or lack of a valid licence.

Claim notification deadline

Claims must be reported to the insurer as soon as possible; theft, robbery and vandalism must be reported immediately to the police, and if the car is stolen abroad it must also be reported to the Danish police.

Bonus-malus rules

The terms do not describe a classic bonus-malus scale; instead, premiums are index-regulated annually on 1 January, an extra 5,000 DKK deductible applies if actual mileage exceeds the declared limit, the insurer may change price and cover with 14 days' notice after a claim, an adverse claims history can be registered in DFIM's shared register, and using the legal-expenses cover does not affect the policyholder's right to obtain or keep a casco no-claims discount.
