Acute worsening of an existing or chronic illness is covered only if the condition has been stable for the 2 months before departure, or a medical pre-assessment without exclusion clause was obtained beforehand.

Ski sports cover

Optional

Only in Skisport

Injury sustained while skiing or snowboarding is only covered if the optional Skisport add-on has been purchased; it follows the geographic scope (Europe or World) chosen for the base policy. For policies effective before 8 October 2025, ski sports cover and worldwide scope were included automatically.

Source

Adventure sports cover

No limit stated

No separate 'adventure sports' cover is defined in the terms or PID; the terms only address ski/snowboard sports and exclude costs from practising or training for professional sport.

Source

Pregnancy-related treatment

Treatment in connection with childbirth is covered up to 4 weeks before the expected due date; cancellation cover, separately, excludes pregnancies known at booking unless the due date falls within the trip or under 4 weeks after the return date.

Source

24/7 emergency assistance

Covered

Policyholders and family have round-the-clock access to the insurer's emergency alarm center for acute assistance while travelling (+45 70 15 55 00), including access to an online Danish-language doctor service.

Source

Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

You must contact the 24-hour alarm center as soon as possible in an emergency; prior agreement with the insurer or its alarm center is required for sick/repatriation transport, escort (sygeledsagelse), call-out (tilkaldelse) and evacuation costs to be covered.

Unauthorized treatment

Costs for sickness/repatriation transport, medical escort or call-out that are not agreed with the insurer or its alarm center in advance are not covered.

Purchase while abroad

Coverage starts when you leave your home address in Denmark and ends when you return to your home address in Denmark; the policy is tied to being registered at a Danish civil registration (folkeregister) address, so it is designed to be bought before departure rather than while already travelling.

Chronic conditions

For acute worsening of a chronic or existing illness to be covered, your condition must have been stable for the last 2 months before departure, or you must have obtained a medical pre-assessment without an exclusion clause.

Pregnancy

Treatment related to childbirth is covered up to 4 weeks before the expected due date; the optional cancellation cover excludes pregnancies where the due date falls within the trip or under 4 weeks after the planned return, if you became aware of the pregnancy after booking.

Pre-existing condition exclusions

A medical pre-assessment may be required if you have a chronic or existing illness, or have been ill or injured immediately before booking or up to departure, to clarify whether your condition is covered.

Coverage duration limit

The standard annual policy covers each trip for the first 60 days; for longer trips, an extended travel insurance (Forlænget rejseforsikring) can be purchased to extend the coverage period up to 1 year, though it excludes replacement-trip and ruined-vacation-day benefits.
