Direct payment
ERGO's medical assistance partner InterAssist arranges medical care and, where needed, guarantees payment directly to medical institutions abroad. If the insured pays out of pocket, all receipts and medical documents must be submitted with a claim upon return to Estonia.

Covered
Covers necessary examination and treatment costs, including medicines, incurred due to sudden illness, exacerbation of a chronic illness, or accident during the trip. The sum insured is agreed individually and noted on the policy.

Covers medically necessary treatment provided by a doctor for sudden illness, chronic disease exacerbation, or accident during travel. Includes diagnostic tests, treatment, and prescribed medicines.

Covered
Hospitalization costs are covered as part of the health insurance benefit, under medically necessary treatment costs arising from sudden illness, chronic disease exacerbation, or accident. No separate sub-limit stated; covered within the overall health insurance sum insured.

Outpatient examination and treatment costs prescribed by a doctor are covered under the health insurance, within the agreed sum insured, for sudden illness, chronic disease exacerbation, or accident during the trip.

Coverage for active holidays (mountain hiking up to 5,000 m, hobby diving to licensed depth max 40 m, skiing on marked pistes, ATV safari, horse or bicycle trekking, expeditions to polar/desert/jungle regions, sailing, surfing, water skiing) applies only when agreed with the insurer and noted as "aktiivne puhkus" on the policy. Extreme sports (paragliding, bungee jumping, boxing, alpinism, motorsport, base jumping, offshore sailing, cave diving beyond 40 m, rafting etc.) are excluded entirely.

Assistance call deadline
In the event of illness or accident, the insured must notify the insurer and/or the assistance centre (InterAssist) immediately and follow their instructions. Failure to contact the assistance centre before seeking treatment may affect reimbursement of costs.
Unauthorized treatment
The insurer may be partially or fully released from its obligations if the insured has not fulfilled at least one of the obligations listed in clause 7, including the requirement to notify the insurer or assistance centre immediately after an insured event.
Purchase while abroad
Travel insurance must be purchased before the start of the trip. If the insured has already departed from Estonia before concluding the contract, this must be disclosed to the insurer at the time of conclusion. Purchasing insurance while already abroad requires submitting a wish application and is subject to insurer review.
Chronic conditions
Chronic diseases and conditions diagnosed or manifested before the start of the insurance contract are not covered, except for acute exacerbations that are life-threatening and for which travel was not medically contraindicated.
Pregnancy
Medical costs related to pregnancy and childbirth are excluded. However, pregnancy complications that first occur during the trip after the policy has entered into force are covered under the health insurance.
pre_existing_conditions
Pre-existing conditions and illnesses diagnosed before the trip are generally excluded. Coverage applies only for sudden, unforeseen illnesses with first symptoms appearing during the trip that had not been previously diagnosed, or for acute life-threatening chronic exacerbations where travel was not contraindicated.

The insurance period must not be shorter than the duration of the trip. For single-trip insurance, the period must equal the trip duration.
